Final team selections made for the 2012 National Collegiate Water Ski Championships

On Monday October 8, the National Collegiate Water Ski Association (NCWSA) made the final Wildcard selections and placed them alongside the 20 already-qualified teams in their respective Divisional Championships for the National Collegiate Water Ski Championships – which are to be held at the TriLakes Water Ski Facility in Zachary, Louisiana on October 18-20.
The teams that will be contesting titles in the events of Slalom, Tricks and Jump in both the Men's and Women's categories, plus the overall and combined team titles are:

The action commences on the morning of October 18 with the slalom competition in Division 1. Some of the top tournament water ski athletes from around the world are among the skiers participating for their respective college teams. Among the nations represented in this event are Canada, Great Britain, South Africa, Ireland, France, Colombia, Peru, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Belarus and of course the United States.
The Warhawks from Louisiana-Monroe are the defending National Team Champions and are looking to clinch their 24th such title in a championship that began on their Bayou Desaird site in 1978. Their intra-state rivals from Lafayette are four-time champions themselves, but the Ragin' Cajuns face a strong challenge from emerging rivals such as the Mocassins from Florida Southern College and the Sun Devils from Arizona State.
