Top junior water ski athletes from across the nation have been selected to the National Junior Water Ski Team and the National Junior Development Water Ski Team for 2010.

The 36 selections, decided upon by the American Water Ski Association’s Junior Development Committee and International Activities Committee, are based upon tournament performances during the 2009 tournament season.

Based on the selection criteria, the top-12 athletes are named as National Junior Water Ski Team members, while the remaining 24 are named to the National Junior Development Water Ski Team. The teams will not compete in any international tournaments, but they may train together.

Selected to the 2010 National Junior Water Ski Team were: Blake Alessandroni (Wolfeboro Falls, N.H.), Steven Brooks (Canyon Lake, Calif.), Briant Detty (Danville, Ind.), Makayla Haw (San Mateo, Calif.), Kara MacIntyre (Knoxville, Tenn.), Haywood McDonald (Fayetteville, N.C.), Elizabeth Montavon (Dixon, Ill.), Lauren Morgan (Odessa, Fla.), Brittany Greenwood (Little Rock, Ark.), Erika Lang (Gilbert, Ariz.), Dylan Schaffer (Owens Cross Roads, Ala.) and K.C. Wilson (Winter Springs, Fla.).

Selected to the 2010 National Junior Development Water Ski Team were: Dylan Alvarez (Homestead, Fla.), Julianna Boskus (Elkins, Ark.), Samuel Greenwood (Little Rock, Ark.), Carli Guyer (Pierson, Fla.), Ellie Horton (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), Z. Taylor Horton (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), Zachary Kachele (Allendale, N.J.), Alison Lindy (Circle Pines, Minn.), Brandi Lund (Winter Garden, Fla.), Kevin Malak (Justin, Texas), Dane Mechler (Milford, Ohio), Mason Mechler (Milford, Ohio), Jenna Morgan (Odessa, Fla.), Jaye Morris (San Diego, Calif.), Robert Morris (San Diego, Calif.), Ryan Nason (Yuba City, Calif.), Zane Nicholson (Gallatin, Tenn.), Austin Norton (Stateline, Nev.), Drew Phillips (Johns Creek, Ga.), Alexis Pickos (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.), Alston Roberson (Cartersville, Ga.), Zachary Schneider (Powell, Ohio), Tomas Scholl (Puyallup, Wash.) and Nikki Waitt (Clermont, Fla.).

Many of these athletes will compete for a spot on the 2010 U.S. Junior Water Ski Team at the U.S. Water Ski Team Trials, June 26-27, in Van Wert, Ohio. The U.S. Junior Water Ski Team will represent the United States at the Pan American Water Ski Championships, Nov. 22-28, in San Bernardo, Chile.
