The American Water Ski Association's International Activities Committee announced the selections for two water ski teams – Junior and Under 21 – that will represent the United States in international competition this year. The selections were made following the 2010 U.S. Water Ski Team Trials, June 26-27, at Pleasant Shores in Van Wert, Ohio.
Athletes selected to the U.S. Junior Water Ski Team were: Lauren Morgan (Odessa, Fla.), Haywood McDonald (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.), Makayla Haw (Rio Linda, Calif.) and Erika Lang (Gilbert, Ariz.). The team will compete in the 13th Junior Water Ski World Championships, Aug. 5-8, in Brescia, Italy, and the 2010 Pan American Water Ski Championships, Nov. 22-28, in San Bernardo, Chile.
Selected as alternates were: Steven Brooks (Canyon Lake, Calif.), Brittany Greenwood (Little Rock, Ark.), Mason Mechler (Loveland, Ohio), Kara MacIntyre (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Nikki Waitt (Clermont, Fla.).
Athletes selected to the U.S. Under 21 Water Ski Team were: Storm Selsor (Fremont, Calif.), Keri McClure (Van Wert, Ohio), Steven Brooks (Canyon Lake, Calif.) and Brittany Greenwood (Little Rock, Ark.). The team will compete in the 2010 Pan American Water Ski Championships, Nov. 22-28, in San Bernardo, Chile.
