Redmond, WA (May 28, 2010) – O’Brien Water Sports and Elite Slalom Skis are excited to welcome its newest team member, Nicole Arthur! The 23 year old, originally from Falkirk, Scotland, is now residing in the water ski haven of Orlando, FL. Nicole’s most notable accomplishments include winning the 2007 Open World Championships, the 2008 U21 World Championships, holding the British National record, and being a 6 time EAME Champion.
Elite Team Manager Adam Cord had this to say: “We couldn’t be more excited about Nicole joining Team Elite! She’s both an amazing skier and a great person to work with and be around. We look forward to a long relationship with Nicole!”
Nicole is skiing on a 65.5 Elite Experience, and had plenty to say about the ski: “From the minute I pulled the ski out the box I had a good feeling about it....just the look of it says "class". It really didn't even take a full set for me to realize that this was the ski for me!! The ski itself is fantastic. Since joining the team and skiing with Andy I have learnt not just about myself as a skier but also the technology behind the ski. Testing flexes, playing with fins etc. has really helped me to better understand my own skiing.
If I was asked to describe key aspects of ski I'd say....it's fast- its cross course speed and continuous movement in the turn is like no other...I've had no ski that can accelerate like this and still have all the control and smoothness. It's symmetrical- it’s so even in both on and off side turns. I trust the ski full heartedly that I can rip both my on and off side!
I've also skied on the ski in different water conditions... from glass calm to howling tail, to nasty cross to pretty much white capping- there is not one flaw! Everyone hates these conditions and is perhaps more tentative, but with the Elite I really feel so confident that any of the above won't affect me. The ski holds so well in rough water. It's so supportive in the turns you never feel like you’re going to blow the fin; it's such a solid base underneath your feet!
Moving on to the team! We spent a week doing shoots, skiing together, testing equipment, socializing etc. and that was a lot of fun. Everyone was so welcoming; it’s great to feel part of the team! Straight away I felt the support and care from everyone so it's a big honor for me to be part of it all! Thank you to all and I'm so proud to be part of Team Elite!”
We at O’Brien are excited to have such an enthusiastic and talented addition to the team, and we look forward to an exciting season!
