D3 Skis Junior Team Members Bring Home Hardware, Set Records at 2012 JR US Open

Ellensburg, WA—D3 Skis, a waterski manufacturing company committed to traditional three event skiing, is proud to announce five of their junior team skiers brought home gold medals from the 12th Annual Jr. US Open Water Ski Championships June 2-3 at the Lake of Dreams in Jerseyville, Ill.

In addition to the first place finishes, six other D3 skiers brought home hardware from the international event held earlier this month.

In Saturday’s preliminary round, D3 Jr. Team member Erika Lang set a pending G3 and Open Women national record and Jr. U.S. Open record scoring an astounding 9,050 points in the trick event. Erika went on to claim the title on Sunday followed by D3 team skier, Jullianna Boskus with a score of 3,520 points and Abbi Grathwohl in 3rd with 3,130. 
 
Patricio Font of Mexico won the Boys Trick division with a score of 4930, followed by fellow D3 trick skiers, Dane Mechler (2nd) Diego Font (3rd) and Sam Greenwood (4th.)
 
Caroline Cooper took the Jr Women’s Slalom title on her D3 Fusion with a score of 2@35 followed closely by her sister Randolph Cooper who finished in 2nd on her D3 Z7.
 
D3 Jr. Team Skiers, Sam Greenwood and Erika Lang claimed the 1st place overall spot in the boys and girls divisions, respectively.  
 
“D3 Skis is dedicated to the growth and support of the junior skiers in our sport. We are proud of these boys and girls for their devotion and ambition and want to recognize them for their outstanding achievements early in their careers.
