Ski Tip from Water Ski Costa Rica

Have you ever gone windsurfing on a windy day when you couldn't ski? If you have windsurfed then you know that moving the sail back or forth steers you and your board. If you push the sail forward on the board then you create a twisting force that turns you downwind. Well it sometimes helps to think of the ski handle like the windsurf sail. If you come through the wakes with the handle forward then you also create a twisting force that wants to steer you towards the boat. This does not help when we are trying to get out wide to the buoys! Next time try keeping the handle back more with your trailing elbow tight so that you can travel out to the buoy more easily without the handle pulling you the wrong way! Try it out. Have fun!
