Here is the broadcast of the highly anticipated inaugural GOODE Atlanta ProAm that took place at WaterSki Atlanta on Memorial Day 2012, one day after the Masters Finals at Callaway Gardens.
I want to thank the following as the event simply wouldn’t have materialized without their support:
Our Title Sponsor, GOODE with their pivotal support! Connelly, Correct Craft, D3, Eagle, EZ-Salom, HO, MasterCraft, Malibu, Radar and Victory Brewing that backed the event on such short notice.
I want to thank John Horton and BallOfSpray for hosting the broadcast; you are truly the heart of competitive water skiing on the web!
A big thank you as well to Keown Films for their tireless efforts filming and editing and to Tadd Schreiber for doing a great job announcing for us!! In addition, thanks to my ski club members who helped out and put up with me during the planning, prepping, and tear down of the site after the event. Without WaterSki Atlanta club members pitching in, this event would not have happened. Finally, Big Kudos to the all the officials, drivers, Dana Reed, staff members at the lakeside Holiday Inn Express, and most importantly the Professional and Amateur Skiers that pulled together to ski in the event and make it what it is. Without everyone involved, we could not bring this fabulous skiing for you to watch!
I hope everyone enjoys the broadcast. It is my opinion that this is the direction we need to go to get Professional Skiing back on the map and hopefully back on network television. Live Webcasts are great, but the quality is not quite there yet, and personally, I don’t have eight hours to watch a day-long event. Hopefully, this broadcast of the GOODE Atlanta ProAm will keep you on the edge of your seat and bring some high end skiing right into your living room…enjoy!
In closing, there is a “Donate” button via PayPal attached to this broadcast to help cover its cost. As the event matured there where a few core areas I felt important to the event with one focus being able to capture the talent of these extreme elite athletes and bring it to everyone in good quality for your enjoyment and frame by frame analysis. I see the expense of hosting these events as being a roadblock in why we don’t see many true Pro Ski Events on the water today. I don’t want to “sell” this broadcast per se, but I’m hoping you’ll find any contribution worth the enjoyment as we look to make it possible to host the Atlanta ProAm next year by donating to view this broadcast.
Any contributions above what we spent will go directly to the Cash Prize for the upcoming 2013 Atlanta ProAm! Even a $5 donation will help us recover. Thanks again, and enjoy the show….George “OB” Obser.
