Baller thager Posted June 27, 2010 Baller Share Posted June 27, 2010 I have never seen one at a tournament. Lots of A-1's though! One of my buds tried an S-1 and took it back for an A-1.

Baller DanE Posted June 28, 2010 Baller Share Posted June 28, 2010 I´m on the S-1, really good ski, needs some tweaking from factory settings though.Got some good numbers for a 67" from a skier named Corey Humburg.Bindings at stock 29 7/8fin# .770 heads 2.515 and 6.845 tips. For me those work alot better than factory setting.
Bud Man
I did not like the S1. I am M4 and used to run -39 here and there and now trying to re-learn. Actually strugling with -38 right now. I did not run -38 with S1. I could run -35 with S1 but too much tail slide. I would NOT recomend S1.
Baller MattP Posted June 28, 2010 Baller Share Posted June 28, 2010 I know a guy who bought one rode it and did not like it. He said it rode like his old Monza. He is now getting the A1.
Baller jipster43 Posted June 28, 2010 Baller Share Posted June 28, 2010 I have a friend who switched from the A1 to the S1 and felt rather ambivalent about it. He skis deep into 38 @34 for what it's worth. The Radar Strada seems to be the hot ski right now, but I've heard from a few very well placed folks that the Strada is very similar to the A1. Just sayin' - I'm just a duffer who probably wouldn't know the difference. JP :)
Brodie
Both myself and my ski partner tried the A1 and S1 and both of us went with A1's. A1 gets more angle and is a smoother ski. We both average mid 35's with the occasional mid 38's.
Baller lkb Posted June 28, 2010 Baller Share Posted June 28, 2010 KTM, the S1 works for me. In my case the factory size reccomendation was off. I'm 162(34 mph) and I went with the 65. It's a solid ski that I can't find anything wrong with. Tight fast turns and easy enough across the wake. It's forgiving too. The times I have had too much tail slide with it was because I threw my shoulder down into the turn weighting the nose too much. When I stand on it right and think of carrying speed back to the wake the ski really delivers.
TRST
Are you guys all skiing 34 or 36? I was wonering if the 34 specific was marketing or if the S1 is better suited for 34 than the A1. Another way of asking is how do you like the A1 at 34mph? I am trying to decide which one to try with the new exo boots and don't really have a demo option avail. I am currently on a D3 nomad skiing 34 mph -35.
Baller h2oskier_sd Posted July 5, 2010 Baller Share Posted July 5, 2010 For me the S1 worked better as I am 210 lbs skiing at 34mph. I have tried the 68 and am loving the support through the turns as it keeps moving even if I slow down too much instead of digging a hole. It carries out to the bouy really well and if I do as Greg Badal advised carry the handle all the way into the bouy and stand tall, it rails through the turn and I can finish the turn before the boat picks me up. I just got the new EXO bindings and will see how they work on it.
Baller jipster43 Posted July 5, 2010 Baller Share Posted July 5, 2010 The folks I know who ski 34 and have skied both prefer the A1. JP :)
chris carter
i have just tried the s1 after a few skis testing this fall and so far the 66 S1 is the best for me, turns when i am late, reasonable speed, and smooth, especially support on the weak side turn.....wonder how the a2 will be. there are several aroung tenn that are pb, ing on the s1 so i took a test. on my 5th set, but it is getting cold
Baller LeonL Posted November 4, 2010 Baller Share Posted November 4, 2010 Chris, how did the CoX work out for you? It's cold and low water in KY and I have to wait til spring to try mine.
chris carter
the Co X is a great ski, the 65 may have been a bit small for me. smaller sweet spot the S1 seems to work a bit better and it is a 66. I would like to demo the A2, but the S1 is the best so far. been running 32s on it and it feels nice, with cold water and rubber, I am likely at my limit at 32 off.
