Baller rq0013 Posted October 9, 2010 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2010 Im in the process of getting my girl friend a new ski. She is coming off a 65" Radar Lyric and I want to get her on the strada mold. Right now she skis between 28-32mph and ran the course a few times. I was wondering what everyone thinks I should do. I was thinking the Senate or Senate C. Would the senate c be too stiff for those speeds or would it give her a little extra speed being carbon and lighter? Any thoughts? Baller Ed_Obermeier Posted October 9, 2010 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2010 One of the skiers in our group (female) is in the same speed range, she's actually running 30 mph passes pretty well and getting into mid 32 mph. Put her on a regular Senate last season and she's really taken off on it. I'm confident we can get her to 34 mph and cutting rope before she'll need an upgrade. She's on a 66" Senate FWIW.Ed
Baller eddie_roberts_jr Posted October 9, 2010 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2010 Hey Ed, where'd she get a 66? I was thinking we only made them in 65,67 and 69. May have had the wrong sticker on it.
Baller rq0013 Posted October 10, 2010 Author Baller Share Posted October 10, 2010 What would you suggest eddie? I would love to get her on the senate c just because its lighter and would give her more speed and higher speeds once she gets there. But how much stiffer is the c compared to the normal senate? Would that hurt her turning at slower speeds?
Baller Ed_Obermeier Posted October 10, 2010 Baller Share Posted October 10, 2010 You're right Eddie, it's a 65". My bad. She was questioning me about was it the correct length for her size when we first got it (she's about 125 and a tri-athelete), thought she needed a 66 which wasn't an option and I knew 67 was way too big for her. She's rocking it no problem and looking good on it. In fact she'll be at INT Nats this week and she's gonna be at Matt's Tuesday for a couple of sets. Ed
Baller eddie_roberts_jr Posted October 10, 2010 Baller Share Posted October 10, 2010 The Senate C is no stiffer than the regular Senate. Same rocker and flex pattern, it just rebounds quicker at the finish of the turn due to the 100% carbon composite. She probably wouldn't notice the difference in performance 'til her skill level advances some and she starts leaning on the line a little harder. People are really gonna like the 2011 version of the Senate, Senate C and Lyric which are all made from the same new mold. Thanks Ed and good luck to your friend. She'll like skiing with Matt for sure. Wish I was there.
