Gold Member Than_Bogan Posted June 27, 2011 Gold Member Share Posted June 27, 2011 I still haven't found anything to truly replace the old Talons (found the similar-looking 4wakes to have surprisingly poor grip). What's the latest and greatest that I should "upgrade" to? Btw, no clincher-style for me: I'm too paranoid.

Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted June 27, 2011 Baller_ Share Posted June 27, 2011 Been using the Masterline Curves for the last couple of years but seems they dont last to long, went thru two and a half pairs last year. currently using the half from last year, in some spots I am skin on handle! Just ordered a pair of 41 tails from Tadd, we will see how they fare!
Baller jayski Posted June 27, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 27, 2011 Radar Vice, and whatever they were callled in the last couple years, awesome fit and the Boa system is great!
Baller SM Posted June 27, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 27, 2011 41 Tails have been great. Not hard on the hands and are holding together after about 50 sets.
Baller davemac Posted June 27, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 27, 2011 I agree w/ the comments on the 41 Tails. Mine are holding up well. Anyone know what up w/ the name? I get the "41", but not the "Tails".

Gold Member Than_Bogan Posted June 27, 2011 Author Gold Member Share Posted June 27, 2011 Thanks all. I'm interested in the 41 Tail since I've liked HO gloves in the past. Poking around on the internet it seems like there's a "blue" variety and a "red" variety, and the red costs considerably more. Anybody know the difference?
Baller davemac Posted June 27, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 27, 2011 The red are the most current 2011. (Mine are black & white)
D-Law
The Claws were great as well as the Wet Tech Moto's. Now I really like the Radar Strada with the BOA but 80 bucks is steep so 41 Tail it is.

Baller eleeski Posted June 28, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 28, 2011 Home depot garden gloves! Yes I slalomed on them last night - forgot my Masterline clinchers. Surprisingly good grip for $12 for a 10 pack. The best for tricks. Eric
Baller 6balls Posted June 28, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 28, 2011 Clinchers. Have yet to try pro-locks cuz I bought a pile of clinchers when it appeared they were going to become scarce. Good for easy grip, and they really spare the hand trauma, especially if used with liners.
Baller_ Wish Posted June 28, 2011 Baller_ Share Posted June 28, 2011 Clinchers. No more back up pair. Will have to give pro-locks a shot.

Baller MattP Posted June 29, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 29, 2011 I have started to use the RadaR "Clinchers" or Vice gloves. I have used them for 3 sets now and I am starting to like them. I have always used MasterLine Kevlar gloves and still keep a pair in the boat when I ski. I am not 100% sold on the Vice gloves just yet but they have been saving my hands from ripping up and allowing me to be comfortable when am doing a long training sets with Jodi. Baller HO 410 Posted June 29, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 29, 2011 Anyone tried the Radar Ergo gloves? I've been looking unsuccessfuly for a glove that has the same fingertip feel as the original RPM's.
Administrators Horton Posted June 29, 2011 Administrators Share Posted June 29, 2011 Love the Tail 41 and or the K- Palm. I just ordered some Radar Strada gloves. You know you can get the HO or Radar gloves at Marine Products.... Wow how long is it going to be before you guys are sick of that .... Baller greghayes Posted June 29, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 29, 2011 +1 on Radar Strada gloves. Great fit, high quality and they seem to be very durable (after one and a half seasons on them).

Time Bandit
Radar Vice or the former Radar Lock have my vote. They took some getting used to after skiing with standard gloves for a long time but now I would not go back. I have mild/moderate arthritis in my hands and these gloves allow for a better grip, less pain and therefore longer sets. Win, win, win!

Baller HO 410 Posted June 29, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 29, 2011 When I bought my RPM's they had little ridges out at the finger tips. Wouldn't seem like much of a difference but the 41Tails just never had the same feel. I'll probably just have to call in a pair of Ergo's and see what Radar means by "fingertip bumps"
Baller_ Wish Posted June 29, 2011 Baller_ Share Posted June 29, 2011 So, want to order Pro Locks now. Who has the best price and how do they compare to Clinchers for sizing. I wear Mediams in Clinchers.
Baller Garn Posted June 30, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 30, 2011 The ProLocks run pretty much the same as Clinchers. I used Large Clinchers and I use Large ProLocks. The Radar Vice on the other hand run extremely small! If buying those definitely get a larger size then you normally would. My brother bought a pair of Radar Vices and had to go two sizes bigger! Garn
Baller MattP Posted June 30, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 30, 2011 The Vice do not run that small if small at all. The Medium are a tad big but I feel like I would rip a small if I opened my hand. I might give the small a try though
bxroads
The Vice gloves are a tighter fit but true to size (in my experience). I much prefer the tight fit, but thats just me.

Baller jdarwin Posted June 30, 2011 Baller Share Posted June 30, 2011 http://www.lakesatcottonwood.com/Cottonwood%20Shop.htm From what I have heard, the Pro Lock and Clincher sizes were very similar.
