I would recommend he look for a 2011 if possible. The new shape is a def improvment. If budgets an issue, he should try the regular senate. I was on an 09 senate c last year and just picked up a 2011 regular senate a couple weeks ago. The '09 was a great ski but the '11 is even better. It'll help him get through 22 and is plenty of ski to shorten the rope 2-3 more loops.
