ski condition question

looking to buy a ski but worried about the condition and if its going to affect the skis performance....maybe it just looks worse with the pictures but i figured i would ask around first....please let me know what you think

i am looking for a 66" ski. something that will allow me to push into 36 and eventually short line as i am just getting into 34 this summer. what are you looking to sell it for? do you have pics?

Personally I would not buy a used Goode except from someone I knew/trusted and who hadn't used it very much. (Note that OB's ski would qualify.) I love Goodes (been on one most of the last 10 years), but they definitely break down over time.

Scratches are one thing. That skis has gouges. Pass on it.

Arora backed over my KD7000 years ago with his camaro and it had about 10% of the damage that ski has.

ya the guy said he sold it, fine by me. currently looking at a 66 obrien sixam ss or a d3 rcx. thanks

For used skis the Sixam or RCX are probably safer bets.

I have a 1982 Kidder Redline Graphite that is in Way better condition than that thing!

Than sent me a cosmetically delaminating Goode that he felt was no good structurally. I loved the ski! The binding screws did pull out so I installed inserts. A bit of JB weld took care of the cosmetics. Skis typically hold up quite well structurally.

 

A ski will get stale relative to your style. Switching skis might make you ski better just because you need a change and challenge. Spend the money to improve your skiing, but don't worry about letting kids or friends ride the old ski.

Well Eric knows how to get something out of skis that I simply don't.

 

Perhaps I'll have some more stuff for you to play with in the future, but right now my 9900SL is rockin' out, so you can't have it yet :).
