Baller Not_The_Pug Posted August 10, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 10, 2011 Looking for individuals who have tried both skis and what they thought the differences were? Or anyone skiing the S2 and feedback on the ski. I have tried the A2 and like that ski. Trying to decide if I should wait for a demo ride on an S2 or order the A2. Thanks, Kevin
Baller ForrestGump Posted August 10, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 10, 2011 We talked at length with Dave Winegerter, Wade Cox, and Greg Badal about the A2 and S2. They swear up and down that the S2 is the real deal this time and that all of their 34mph team skiers are making the switch. My 39 1/2 off/34mph ski partner brought an S2 home from nationals after their sales pitch and my 41off/36mph ski partner has an A2 coming. I'll keep you updated. Baller Not_The_Pug Posted August 10, 2011 Author Baller Share Posted August 10, 2011 Shane, Keep me posted. Do you know how much the Nat price was? I have a friend back there and if good enough, may have him pick one up. Thanks, Kevin
MCskiFreak
If it were my money I would wait for the S2, that stepped bottom design is a great idea imo and should make a world of difference over the S1. I noticed that the new Prophcey design also has a stepped design, should be interesting to see how these designs shape up.
Baller ForrestGump Posted August 10, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 10, 2011 Kevin, It wasn't an HO booth. It was a dealer who HO partnered with. So the price was $1100 from the dealer.

Baller_ Wish Posted August 10, 2011 Baller_ Share Posted August 10, 2011 I've been riding the Coeficient X SL now for 4 weeks or so. Sad to think this step bottom ski is less then a top end ski because it is not. It out sells the A2 and S1 in Europe (according to 34mph Italian record holder) Why, because of the step bottom. You will see this design brought to many skis in some shape or form IMHO. Casts crazy wide, has no drag, sick angle off the ball when u need it. Big sweeping easy on the body turns and finishes backsliding every ball. I've spent this summer looking for a new ride. Been on Radar Strada and Vice, Goode Mid, D3 Zst, Elite, A2, S1, and my own 9800sl. Non of them made me smile as big as the CoX. Some of them were close but not as much fun and easy to get wide with. I will be testing the S2 next week and anticipate equal results. Not sure there is going to be a $500 difference in performance but we will see. My advice, dont rule out the CoX. Give it a go. Baller Ed_Johnson Posted August 11, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 11, 2011 Where do you find info on the S-2 with the stepped bottom. HO has nothing on their Web-Site.
D-Law
It's a 2012 model so it won't be up yet. You'll have to talk to one of the HO guys to get the scoop.
Baller Jim Neely Posted August 11, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 11, 2011 Miami Nautiques lists the S2 on their website http://www.miamiskinautiques.com/2012-HO-Syndicate-S2-Slalom-Ski-Blank-p/12_ho_s2blank.htm
Baller Ed_Johnson Posted August 14, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 14, 2011 ShaneH, Any word on the S-2 ? Did Badal say he would be riding it ? Wish, Let us know how the S-2 compares to the CoXsl. Saw my first S-2 today and the bottom looks identical. Really nice workmanship and really light.
Baller ForrestGump Posted August 14, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 14, 2011 My partner hated the S2 after the first two sets. He then moved the fin forward a bit and moved the bindings back one hole. He's now starting to like it. It really comes under the rope well on his offside. Better than the Elite he was on before. He also claims that in the pull out and glide, it shuts down better which is allowing him to go outbound harder to achieve more width.
Baller Not_The_Pug Posted August 15, 2011 Author Baller Share Posted August 15, 2011 ShaneH what did he not like about the ski? How are the turns, speed across course and the edge change? Thanks,
Baller ForrestGump Posted August 15, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 15, 2011 Compared to the Elite, it was more effort to get crosscourse. Once he moved the bindings and fin, he really started liking it.

Baller Ed_Johnson Posted August 31, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 31, 2011 ShaneH, Anymore word on the S-2. Was it a 65 or 67, and did you ever find any final numbers? How is your friend finding it now that he has been on it a while? Thanks, I am trying to dial in a 67 now..........ED
Baller ForrestGump Posted August 31, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 31, 2011 He's back on the Elite. Just didn't like that the S2 was more effort to go side to side.
