Radar Lyric question

My daughter just got the Lyric bindings and loves them, except for one small problem. The top cinch clip on one of the bindings gets stuck and can't be undone with a gloved hand. She has to get back on the boat and use a screwdriver to push up the locking piece. I could not even do it with my bare hands. This happens no matter how loose or tight she snugs the laces. Has anyone else experienced this? Just wonerding if it will loosen up over time or if I need to get new cinch clips.

Are the lyric laces the stretch cord type, like the RS-1s? With my RS-1s I found that by pulling the lace, stretching it, first I could then easily release the clip.

Marco, Try Jim's advice. My daughter (also) has double Lyrics, and has not experienced this problem. It is the same cinch mechanism (acetal wheel) that is on my Strada boot. If problem persists, I would think Radar would send you another cinch. Else, you can buy a pkg of them from McMaster Carr www.mcmaster.com , item # 3734T2 for $10 or so.

Thanks Jim and Dave. They are the stretch cord, and I'll have her try stretching the lace before pulling the wheel. I should have thought of that. Makes total sense...

I would add one thing to Jim's advice. After stretching the cord, push the whole clip toward the boot as if tightening but don't pull on the locking piece. As soon as it moves the locking piece will unlock easily. Marco, make sure she doesn't crank them too tight!

Thanks Deke. She has adjusted well to them, and is comfortable keeping the upper laces just snug.
