Baller JH Posted September 2, 2011 Baller Report Posted September 2, 2011 I hava an SN 2008 with ZERO OFF and somthing is wrong. Displey is ok and its bip when you drive in the corse but its not take over the speed you will have. Can someone help me what can be wrong.
Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted September 2, 2011 Baller_ Report Posted September 2, 2011 Do you have a RPM reading at the head unit/display? ZO still needs a RPM input / signal to control. Is your SN a limited or A SE?
Baller JH Posted September 2, 2011 Author Baller Report Posted September 2, 2011 I dont no if it limited or SE.Rpm meter is on the left side off the display. The boat have ZERO OFF from factory orginal mont it hade work with no problems ontil now.
Baller Roger Posted September 2, 2011 Baller Report Posted September 2, 2011 A limited has keyless ignition, where an SE model has a key. Do you have more than one course mapped? If you map the same course multiple times and have the unit in auto-select mode, it can do weird things...
Baller Chuck_Dickey Posted September 2, 2011 Baller Report Posted September 2, 2011 If you have not mapped this course or have auto select off it will do as you describe. If you have mapped and named the course, it will display the name below and center on the display. If you mapped your course but mistakenly selected an open slot, it will act as you've stated.
Baller Roger Posted September 2, 2011 Baller Report Posted September 2, 2011 You don't have to map a course for ZO to maintain speed. Chet never maps his courses and ZO works just fine.
Baller Chuck_Dickey Posted September 2, 2011 Baller Report Posted September 2, 2011 Holding the speed was not the question. Timing in the course was. Mapping is required at every site for ZO to accurately time the pass. You only have to do it one time but it is a must.
Baller JH Posted September 3, 2011 Author Baller Report Posted September 3, 2011 Its a SE and I have map the course it bips when I drive in it but dont take over speed its run away over the set speed
Baller thager Posted September 3, 2011 Baller Report Posted September 3, 2011 I had three maps of my course in the ZO memory. It would work properly heading east but do what you describe going west. I deleted all three from the memory then remapped. No problem since.
Baller JH Posted September 3, 2011 Author Baller Report Posted September 3, 2011 Jody or someone Have check the ZERO OFF today and if you go to recreation mod with RPM its 0 RPM always when engin is on so somthing is wrong with it.
Baller ForrestGump Posted September 3, 2011 Baller Report Posted September 3, 2011 Have you checked the cable connections on the harness behind the dash? If it's not showing rpm, then I'm wondering if the CAN cable to the ECM is not seated correctly?
Baller Roger Posted September 3, 2011 Baller Report Posted September 3, 2011 Chuck, he said it wasn't engaging (taking over the speed), not that it wasn't timing (beeping)... His last comment makes is sound like something is wrong electronically though.
Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted September 4, 2011 Baller_ Report Posted September 4, 2011 Sounds like you have lost signal from the Canbus connection either at the motor or where the the harness plugs into the ZO wiring harness. At the motor their could be one of two places where the Canbus is connected either on a plug labled Twin Harness or at the round multi pin connector, pin out #'s 16 and 17. At the ZO wiring harness their is a rectangle two pin connector under the dash /behind the kick panel. Might want to check these connections and check the circuts for contenuity. Keep n mind though that if these check out ok you may have a unit that has a problem.
Baller JH Posted September 4, 2011 Author Baller Report Posted September 4, 2011 Boats RPM work but not on ZERO OFF display can it help wher it can be.
Baller ForrestGump Posted September 4, 2011 Baller Report Posted September 4, 2011 JH, the ZO is powered seperately from it's connection to the ECM. So as Jody said, if there is a disconnect in that CANbus cable anywhere, the ZO will still power up but will not show RPM or acquire control.
Baller JH Posted September 13, 2011 Author Baller Report Posted September 13, 2011 ZEROGPS supports sucks have mail them and they ask if I have any erros cod I mail back I have no one 2 times and nothing comings back after a week.
Baller JH Posted September 13, 2011 Author Baller Report Posted September 13, 2011 Somthing new I have notice if you go in recreation mod and set in 54 km/h and go back to tornment it always change to 55 km/h but is left in 54 km/h that have no work with update Q I have it in my mail to ZEROGPS to when I told them I have no erros cod.
Baller Chef23 Posted September 13, 2011 Baller Report Posted September 13, 2011 Jody gave you some good trouble shooting points. You aren't getting an RPM feed to the ZO system. The fact that when you put it in rec mode it reads 0 RPM. You need to check the connections that Jody identified first and see if there is a bad connection there. I had a similar issue with my PP system recently and I had to replace the PP computer.
Baller JH Posted September 14, 2011 Author Baller Report Posted September 14, 2011 Yes I have spend hours to check connections can not find anything
Baller Chef23 Posted September 14, 2011 Baller Report Posted September 14, 2011 It could be the computer. I had to replace the computer on my PP. I haven't seen the way ZO is set up but I would imagine that there is a computer in the mix somewhere or you have a bad wire. I would try to get ZO on the phone hopefully when you are at the boat. That is what we did with the PP folks and they were very helpful.
Baller JH Posted October 2, 2011 Author Baller Report Posted October 2, 2011 Have find error code now on historic J1939_ Rxfai
