Tournaments.....Do they Sign Up last minute???

Ok...not slalom stuff but:

 

SO I'm putting on a fig 8 barefoot tournament at our lake..... I have had 25+ people tell me they were signing up. Signups are pretty slow and I'm trying to predict a bit so we have enough food...etc. Anybody mind shedding some light on the subject?

I use online registration so it does make the process a little easier, but here are my stats for this weekend's tournament

 

5 months early - 1 registration

1 month early - 2

2 weeks early - 11

1 week early - 5

Week of tourney - 9

Total 28

 

Fortunately, this is in the range we have come to expect so planning isn't difficult and we wait until mid-week to start buying food, etc anyway.

 

Somehow, JD has figured it out. He throws a couple of great tournaments every year and has a full entry list at least 1 month in advance. What's your secret?

Just wanted to report back....

 

10 skiers for our tourney.

 

6 signed up the week of it.

 

Lots of other whiny pansy skiers saying how our $45 entry fee which included a shirt and dinner was too much for them to afford.
