My girl friend wants the pink strada thats coming out mainly because its pink. She currently rides on the 2011 senate at 28mph in the course and free skis at 30mph sometimes. She had the lyric before and the slightly stiffer senate seemed to help her. She tried my strada and liked it because it "turned easy".

Has anyone tried the ski at these speeds?

I'll try to keep it brief. I'm a 200 lb greenhorn and have progressed from the 67" Theory, to the 67" Senate C (MPD based), to the 68" Strada this summer. No brainer, Strada all the way (skiing at 30mph and 32 mph). It is much less work for me than the Senate C at the same speeds (why?) and I am far more consistent on the Strada. If I can ski the Strada at 200 lbs and 30 mph I can't image 28 being an issue for a lighter skier.

My son isn't on a Strada but he skis a 66.5" A2 starting at 28 mph into 34 mph right now and he is about 5 pounds heavier than your girlfriend. We have a friend that skis a 66" Strada at 28 mph and he weighs 170. I would say ti should work fine for your girlfriend.

I started out the season 215lbs, 30mph (15 off) on a 68" Strada... It has been the most adaptive ski I have ever experienced. I have exceled rather quickly this year at the same weight running 34mph and 28' off regularly and have ran 32' once and been close several more times... I have not touched the fin settings from factory.

A little off topic, but I bought a 66" Strada this summer too (great ski, got me 12 balls easy and probably more). I only weigh around 110 lbs, but I've had no problems with the ski. I ski at 36 and bought the ski with the intention to grow into it, but I'm wondering if I overcompensated. Is the weight difference so much that a 65" would *dramatically* help (don't want to go through all the SIA hassle if it isn't that big of a deal)?

I have been skiing the Strada this season and I have been starting at 30mph. Due to the crazy year we've had I haven't been able to ski very much this year but I have been getting into 36mph regularly at tournaments(only one time last year). One thing I have noticed is that my 30mph and 32mph passes have gotten so clean and consistent since switching to the Strada. I absolutely love it, even at slower speeds.
