Baller Chuck_Dickey Posted November 14, 2011 Baller Report Posted November 14, 2011 Product review - I have seen a couple Pro's wearing the Camaro suits and finally found an economical source in the USA so I thought I'd give one a try. The first one I bought last year was the Modetec 0.5mm LS shorty and then when the water cooled even more, Modetec 0.5mm full suit. I wore them in the spring this season and they worked very well. I just got the 1.0mm Open Cell full suit and with the water now in the low 60s it performed great. Now I've got all three and couldn't be happier with the quality, flexibly and performance. I would compare the to the AquaSphere suits only better.
Baller Chuck_Dickey Posted November 15, 2011 Author Baller Report Posted November 15, 2011 I'll post it if John says it's OK. Don't want to go against the grain.
Baller_ The_MS Posted November 15, 2011 Baller_ Report Posted November 15, 2011 I have a good connection for AquaSphere if someone needs one. I just got one for early present and my wife has used one for the past 4 years without issue and loves them.

Baller tsixam Posted November 15, 2011 Baller Report Posted November 15, 2011 I am using http://www.camaro.at/en/wasserski/wetsuits/60_7491_99.php when it is cold. Not as warm as a drysuit, but ok for early and late season skiing and much more comfortable. Tsixam
Baller Razorskier1 Posted November 15, 2011 Baller Report Posted November 15, 2011 I bought the 0.5mm long sleeved shorty and was surprised at how much warmth it keeps in given the lightweight. My only gripe is that under the arms and down my biceps all of the silver outer coating has rubbed off, and that matters. Without the titanium or whatever coating that is, water penetrates the suit at those spots and it is less warm. Otherwise it has been nice.

Baller_ lpskier Posted November 15, 2011 Baller_ Report Posted November 15, 2011 Chuck, I can tell why you like those suits so well.... You wear them in warm water. Mid summer tops out about 70 around here! Lpskier
Oldutskier Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 what makes these wetsuits better than other wetsuits? They look cool, but what else is different?
Baller boarditup Posted November 16, 2011 Baller Report Posted November 16, 2011 The difference is the quality of the neoprene (there are several grades), quality of the fabric covering, if any, the cut of the suit, the quality of the thread, and the type of stitching. For keeping warm, the suit must fit skin-tight and still allow for full range of motion. Look for "Super Stretch" neoprene and flat-lock stitching for most waterski uses. Then, go for best fit. For best warmth, you don't want a fabric covering on the chest. The fabric retains water that evaporates and cools at high speeds. Treat with 303 a few times a year and hang up on a thick, bulky hangar to dry. Woolite to clean.
Baller_ The_MS Posted November 16, 2011 Baller_ Report Posted November 16, 2011 Ham, Thin and warm. No bulk feeling and not much restriction.
Baller jdarwin Posted November 16, 2011 Baller Report Posted November 16, 2011 I purchased a Camaro full suit for my daughter two years ago. Fantastic quality and materials. Glad to know that more of their products are available stateside.
Baller Chuck_Dickey Posted November 16, 2011 Author Baller Report Posted November 16, 2011 Warm water to you, is cold water to me. I guess our water at it's warmest is cool to those in Florida
