Here in the USA most skiers do not know there is a South Korean ski community. I know a lot of high end skis ship over there.

Are there any Ballers who ski tournaments in South Korea?

I do not know any tournaments here. I know they are a few here though, but I havent gone through the trouble to memorize the name dates and location. The IWWF was in Chuncheon a few years ago.

I would say waterskiing is as big as wakeboarding here. The older guys with cash rip it up on skis while the younger guys try to look cool with a board. The ski club I regularly go to is skis only. The area of Gapyeong and Cheongpyeong lake is stacked with dozens and probably over a hundred ski clubs. There the wakeboard to ski ratio is more favorable to wakeboarding. The one location in Busan was wakeboarding exclusively while other locations in the south Im not sure of as I have not been there, but generally speaking skiing is more favored here than it is in the US. Due to the lack of garage space and convenience no one really owns a boat so ski clubs are relatively common after I did some searching. That being said the idea of lakeshore property doesnt have the same connotations here as it does in the states. I've never really seen any traditional docks or lake shore property outside of Cheongpyeong lake and there's some lake shore property to be had, granted its all reservoirs.

A lot of high end skis do ship here. Although Im not very knowledgeable bout skis and everything on the market I can say that everyone that has their own ski has X7 X5, HO A/S model or an elite ski. Koreans ball up for everything they do. These cats are satisfied with a $1500 mountain bike, they need a $5000-$10,000 mountain bike. People who dont have a regular motorcycle to drive around town go all out with massive Harleys, 1200cc Suzukis and ride in packs. Hiking isnt a shoe and backpack affair here either, they gear up with walking poles, pants, jackets and $200 boots for an afternoon hike.

I've put this here before and now I'll put it here again

Btw, most ski clubs have 1 quality ski boat for $30 a round and a few cheap ski boats (that you guys dont like) for $25 a round.
