Chasin' buoys, Swan Style

I've struggled a bit over the years to label my skiing style. The kindest word I've found is Finesse. Another favorite is Weaktastic.

 

9 y.o. Olivia Myers has put my quest to its end. Middle of my set she turns to her dad and says (I'm told) "Dad, you ski like an angry man and he skis like a swan."

 

I think Swan Style captures a lot of the good and bad of my skiing style, and also fits with my gangly arms.

 

So if you're a scrawny person with a technical but not very powerful style, you're technique has a new name!

Swan is very cool. Maybe "Angry Swan" would net you that 39!

Yeah, I could definitely use some more angry. Livy's comments were not necessarily intended as critical or complimentary to either her dad or me -- just an observation from a very observant girl.

 

Turned 41 today. Maybe I can hope for "grumpy old man" at some point here??

 

I just don't really have that "extra gear" that many slalom skiers do when things get ugly.

Hitting 3 sites this week: Myer's home site on Wed, 1 set in Wolfeboro Fri, and Jamie's home site this morning. Also ran into Lucky Lowe in Wolfeboro last night. Star-studded weekend!

 

41 does feel youngish. Buoy peak may still lie in the future.
