New Ski pricing Q's

OK I know which ski I want, I have found a "good" price however I keep hearing that I should wait because I am buying a 2012 and the 2013 is days or a week away. A lot of skiers' seasons are coming to an end, so lots of downward pressure on pricing, what is the optimum time to buy???? The two "deals" I have found are both from ski shops. I have access to the 2011 model, that is what I am skiing on now so I can hold off a bit longer and still have a good stick to use.

Agreed...unless your ski is broken, I would wait a little longer. I don't know that a new 2011 model will come down much but a new 2012 model will. If you're considering buying used, then it's a gamble if people are going to be dumping their 2011/2012 models for the latest and greatest.

2012 Prophecy 68" Blanks are 789, and I found one with talons for 900. I would buy a 2011 but cannot find one in 68, but they are selling new for 539. Cant help but think the 2012 will drop another 100.

OK, via ebay, I grabbed a 2012 prophecy with Talon boots for 930. I am saying 700 for the stick and 230 for the boots, I think that is a great deal. Thanks to my bro Jeff for not only providing a tow boat, but doubling down and letting me ride his prophecy while I waited out a deal, I love to ski but my ski buds are the real reason I ski. : )
