Baller Waternut Posted February 1, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 1, 2013 I'd love that as a boat house or vacation home but I need room to work on stuff. I'm bummed even now because I only have a single car garage which means I either work on something or park in the garage but never both.
Baller_ Wish Posted February 1, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted February 1, 2013 This one could fit a boat or two........or
h2odawg79
@Wish, Crazy! -too bad they didn't really go after the Nautical Theme in their Architecture! @jfw432, I really miss my old Home, I had a modest Ranch style w/900 sq. ft. detached Garage/Shop with a 600 sq. ft. carport and R.V. parking. Now we have too many sq. ft. of Living space, a small Garage and a giant corner lot to mow and maintain... I'm at a pt. in my life where a lot of sq. ft. and yard work just doesn't excite me anymore. But, I too need the Shop!
Baller ForrestGump Posted February 1, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 1, 2013 All that boat house would need for me would be a detached 6 car garage and I'd be in nirvana.
Baller Skoot1123 Posted February 1, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 1, 2013 @wish - wonder who put my house up for sale. Guess I better keep better track of those things.....
Baller Waternut Posted February 1, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 1, 2013 @h2odawg79 I'm in the same boat. My last house was 1400sq ft with prob 600 sq ft of parking and storage. Now I have 2400 living and basically no storage which pretty much nets me negative space...and I've got the big corner lot too. Baller dbski Posted February 1, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 1, 2013 Before I remodeled and added onto our house I built the detached garage. The garage is 25 x 38 with a 1/2 story work out area upstairs. The house at this time was 25 x 25. Several of my female neighbors commented that the garage seemed a tad big in relation to the house. I said "to big?" the only problem was that my lot and set back restrictions limited it to only 25 x 38!

Baller A_B Posted February 2, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 2, 2013 I have a 3-car with a full 15' extra behind the third bay, with another garage door in the rear to drive the mower out the back. Also creates a great cross breeze to dry the boat carpeting off. You know, I think it's too small!
Baller dbski Posted February 2, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 2, 2013 I'm a firm believer no matter how big you build any garage/storage building you'll eventually find enough stuff (my wife would say junk) to fill it!
Baller Texas6 Posted February 2, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 2, 2013 @dbski, it's a little bit different at my house. No matter how big my garage is, my wife will find enough junk to fill it. These items mysteriously wind up missing as I grow weary of their presence.
Baller_ Wish Posted February 2, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted February 2, 2013 @Texas6 Could not have said it better myself. Mine is gone for the weekend. Time to de-clutter a bit.
