Baller Razorskier1 Posted February 6, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 6, 2013 I was just looking online and found this at Amazon. Seems a pretty good price for a brand new sport tube. http://www.amazon.com/Sportube-Series-2-Special-Edition/dp/B003STEEG6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1360160222&sr=8-3&keywords=sport+tube+ski

Baller Razorskier1 Posted February 6, 2013 Author Baller Share Posted February 6, 2013 @MattP -- what I really need is about 1 million FF miles so I can run around the world testing lakes like @OB!
Baller MattP Posted February 6, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 6, 2013 @OB 100 lakes in 1 year? That's brave I guess we might not be skiing together at all this season if you go for that! Oh but your wife is crazy..
Baller Razorskier1 Posted February 6, 2013 Author Baller Share Posted February 6, 2013 @OB -- you're both crazy! That being said, make a trip to MN! Bring the wife and kids! You can pick up 4-5 lakes with one trip!
Baller JohnCox Posted February 6, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 6, 2013 Dang - I thought I covered some ground with ski lakes....I might hit 15 this year. I quit running when I hurt my ankle in April of 2010 and in the process learned I could lose weight more efficiently without it, but managed to run 2,484 miles in 2009. The guy that had gotten me in to running did almost 5,000, so I thought I was a wuss...
Baller_ Wish Posted February 6, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted February 6, 2013 @JohnCox "....lose weight more efficiantly without it...." Do tell. My body is 100% used to 185. Would like to be 175. Hate running.
Baller BraceMaker Posted February 6, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 6, 2013 @MattP (mappt?) what's the advantage to the 3 versus the 2? I've been soft bagging.

Baller BraceMaker Posted February 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 7, 2013 So if you use hardshells and pop them off, no problems with a sportube 2?
Baller MattP Posted February 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 7, 2013 No idea
Baller BraceMaker Posted February 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 7, 2013 @OB - FM's release with out destroying tape... I pull them off the ski to get into the boat.
Baller BraceMaker Posted February 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 7, 2013 @OB, they do not use interlok, hence when I am doing skiing, I grab the tip of the ski, pop my rear boot, the front boot comes off, I hand the ski up into the boat, and climb in, then pull my boots, and dump the water while the next skier suits up, and slap them back on the ski (no tools). My point being, I can transport my ski with the boots off, with out destorying dual lock, so perhaps the smaller case is not a detriment. Perhaps we got off course, I thought your post was saying removing hardshells messed up tape, and I'm commenting that I don't have tape, hence I coudl use the cheaper case off amazonium. Baller klindy Posted February 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 7, 2013 I've got a sports tube 3 and love it. At least 2 segments a week last year (at least 50 segments total) and I pack a Goode Wide Ride with hard shells, vest (wrapping the tip), shorty wet suit and towel (wrapping the fin), trick ski, slalom rope, two handles, trick rope and handle, trick release, gloves, caliper and assorted tools. A couple times I traded the trick stuff for survey equipment (tripod and target pole), end course video camera, cables and battery power source (I carried on the survey instrument). Knock on wood I've never had a problem. Best part is getting all this in a small two seat convertible is a challenge but doable with the top up and windows closed! The baggage folks at DFW at so familiar with the Sport Tube they simply point to the oversize conveyor when they recognize me walking thru the baggage claim area. Stoner
I was able to pick up a new Sportube 3 last spring for a ridiculous cheap price. Lucked into a chain sporting goods store in the south and they had a dust covered 3 on clearance along with the snow ski gear. Manager had no idea what he had but gave me an extra chunk off to get the dirty four pair snow ski carrier off his hands in June. He got me good. So good that I was tempted to buy a set of his combos for my kids and stuff them into my new water ski carrier just to see his reaction. Proof that goods deals can be in unlikely places.
