Baller rodecon Posted February 23, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 23, 2013 Hello, i am new here, been lurking for about 6 months and have become addicted to the site! I have a 2007 Malibu rlxi with the 340hp monsoon, it came with a acme 525 prop (i bought it used, no idea if it was original) My question is: I want to buy a spare prop, is the 525 the best way to go? I notice that the 515 is the stock prop for my boat, is there another prop you would recommend?
Baller rodecon Posted February 23, 2013 Author Baller Share Posted February 23, 2013 Thank you @scotchipman, we are@ only a couple hundred feet from sea level here in Upstate NY so that isnt a concern, loads of torque with the 525. i am intrigued by the idea of some fuel savings with the 515. Will i have to re-calibrate my pp stargazer baseline if i change props?
Baller rfa Posted February 23, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 23, 2013 2008 RLXi in MA...ACME 515...very happy...I have ZO on mine, but my "recollection" from PP was that yes, you would re-calibrate for a new prop.
Baller Fine409 Posted February 23, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 23, 2013 @rodecon Also maybe take a look at the OJ XMP props. Some good info here... http://www.themalibucrew.com/forums/index.php?/topic/147-acme-13x12-vs-oj-xmp-13x12/ I think I've settled on a OJ XMP 13x11.5 this season for my Sunsetter LXI to replace the factory prop
