I have to admit...the last ski I bought which was about 15 years ago (HO Extreme something or other) I bought on looks. I always thought it was a really good looking ski...actually still do. Every time I come on this site though and see that Mapple 6.0 I can't help but think what a well executed design it is.

So...best looking ski you have seen?

@kmenard "Best looking ski" may not be total fluff. It's a well-established truism in golf that if you don't like the look of a club, you will likely not hit well with it.

Best looking ski ever: Fisher

Best looking current ski: Nano One

@easttxskier I agree, I had that exact ski (2002 MY) and it's stunning.

Currently I think the 2012 HO S2 is the best looking ski out there. Love the pure white color with the top relief and tip shape- totally killer look.

@aswinter05 I just purchased the same ski, and yes...pictures do not do it justice...same with the 2012 lyric I just got my wife..both gorgeous skis. I just figured it would be lame to pick the skis I just bought...and that Mapple gets me every time I click here. Of course...I could buy 3 of my Senate C's for the cost of one Mapple 6.0...sooo...the Senate C looks every nicer at that point :)

I always kind of joked that if a pink really made me a better skier, I would own one. Since that's not really an issue, I certainly wouldn't own a boring ski just like I don't buy rusting golf clubs or clubs with a brushed finish. If I'm going to spend over $1000 on a ski, golf clubs, or something like that, I want it to shine and stand out so I can be proud of it. I love the way the HO LEMON-ited and 2012 Radar Strada glow on the water. Since I've been skiing Radar for a while, I settled on the 2012 Strada.

I don't go to bed dreaming about a 400lb woman with a good personality...I dream about girls like @OB and @AB posted so I'm certainly not going to purchase a ski that looks ugly to me.

The Reflex polished Carbon Fiber skis are a absolute work of art when seen live.

The 2013 A3, Red and Black, is my favorite paint scheme...I think I bought one because it matches by CC200 colors exactly.

Ended up on the Mapple 6.0 which is rather plain looking..It looks better now that I have all my sponsor decals on it though...AARP, Depends, and Geritol.

+1 on the 2012 S2. +1 for ugly N1. Wife saw a rack of N1 at the nationals this past year and asked me; "...are these the cosmetic blems?". I'll get to see a M 6.0 in person this coming Monday so I'll hold off on my opinion.

I saw the same rack of N1's at Nationals and my first thought was they rushed them out and they did look like blems...Then I was worried they would surely improve upon that, and if you got one of these, no one would want it.

I'm happy with my Plain Jane M6..Now if MS will send me a Viagra sticker, it will be complete.

I really like how Goode lets you pick a ski and then decide how you want it shaped but they are pretty much the ugliest ski's IMO.The Goode white Nano and Fire's look really good. The rest of Goode's line looks like ski's from 20 years ago. Reminds me of the old Connelly HP's which I enjoyed using but a bit dated.

Maybe I like the look of the Nano One because I like seeing the nano carbon through the smoke graphic--even the way it's all bunched up at the edges. It's kind of "Bladerunner." The inside of a real race car looks like crap to people expecting a supercar interior too, but it's pure handcrafted function-before-form look is a thing of beauty to my eye.

Okay @MattP, more specifically, I like the look of weave in the carbon that Goode uses. But I'm going to change my vote anyway. As much as I like the look of the Nano One, I forgot about the SansRival. I have to agree with Horton that it's the best looking ski in the sport.

@04196 I agree, my brother in law had a connely hook in the mid 60,s, it was a beautiful ski that he did beach starts at my family's cabin, while I had a world team comp wood/glass, then alum/glass, and also did beach starts with. He always said his hook whistled. Boy, did those beach starts on barnacles ever ruin you ski.

I like the raw carbon weave of the Sans Rival, Razor, and Warp. They do not have the creases and crinkles at the edges of the ski. But I kind of like the crinkles in my Nano One. Gives the ski a unique look.

I have to say...this thread got a LOT more response than I expected...I was half expecting a panda :) I too really like the 2012 styling on the Radar line, a lot of the 2013 seems like someone was having a bit too much fun with the green highlighter...and the Lyric...didn't Ed Hardy go out of style like 5 years ago? The Strada still looks sweet though. I also like the look of the Sans Rival...but just can't get over the name. It just sounds hoaky to me.
