Lets get the disclaimer out of the way i am a die hard Radar guy!! Why? i have loved the product and people since the first Strada and love how Radar backs up their products!

I am on a 2013 67 Strada with strada frnt boot RS1 rear boot. this is my 3rd Strada i weigh 175 34mph skier working on mastering 35off. skied 5@35 2 out of 3 rounds in my last tournament this is my tournament PB. Practice PB 1@38. So this will be short and not to techy as i am not a real tech guy plus this is only my 7th season of being plugged into slalom course skiing and honestly have tried not to let it consume every waking moment all though finding that hard today after yesterdays ride on Vapor!!.

So went out on my good friend @chrisrossi 67 Vapor! 22, 28, wow uhm should i ski another 28? Rossi no that was a pretty clean 28 ok lets shorten to 32. Boom killed it! Rossi doesnt even ask just shortens to 35!! so off the dock first ride ever 5@35 this ties my best practice skiing off the dock over the last few weeks!! next pass i run 35!! Wow super impressed at this point Im saying to myself i want a Vapor!! missed a few 35's ran another easy 32 and was done! My ski partner and lake owner also got a ride and demands a Vapor after his 3 rd pass on it!!!

The big standout is how well the tip of the ski stays down no matter how out of position i got the tip did great at staying in or on the water! Thanks to the tip staying down i never felt like i had to reset the ski before getting into my pulling position at the finish of the turn. I never felt like the tip wanted to bury itself in the turn!

2nd would have to be my offside turn 135 RFF. When i went from my 11 Strada to 2013 Strada this was huge. Once again 13 Strada to Vapor i can tell with time my offside will only get stronger once again! This must have to do with tip down=more ski in the water?

To sum it up this ski felt better than my 13 Strada everywhere! At no point did it ever feel weird or uncomfortable to me! So this may be a little bias as i am a Radar guy and have not demoed a lot of other brands over the last 3 seasons but i just love how forgiving my Strada is for a guy who gets way out of shape during any given pass.

IMO Radar once again hit the ball out of the park on Vapor! Cant wait to get my own Vapor and start getting down the line @38!

Im jelous! Could your friend be the ski desginer? What other comparisons can you give between the strada and the vapor? Could you feel those little rails in front of your foot on the offside compared to the onside? Give us more!!! Im waiting on hearing if I will be getting mine soon, I can only wait.

@gregy if I re call correct its a vent that lets air pass through the tip? pretty sure that is supposed to help keep the tip down?don't quote me on that though

The hole is a targeting porthole. You should spot the right hand gate for the next buoy through the porthole at the same time your free hand touches the handle at the end of the turn.

It’s for hanging the ski from a hook so you can beat it with a stick like a pinata after a bad set. This new feature will be standard on all manufactures skis in 2014.

@markshilcutt that would be just like the Dynastar Omeflow skis from the 80s. They had something on the tip with a hole cut through the ski to create downforce. It never really caught on for your average skier.

@chef23

I love that you remember the Dynastar omeflow! I was sponsored by them during that time frame, and the sad truth was both the hole and the egg didn't do squat. My eggs would pop out quite frequently in fact, from rapid gate impact on the front of the skis, leaving an equally useless hole.
