Baller kmenard Posted August 12, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2013 Welcome to New England, home of the shortest summer in the world (ok, slight exaggeration, but any way). Between bare skin and wet suit weather there seems to be a thermal swim shirt weather. What are you guys using?
Baller LkSamm196 Posted August 12, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2013 shorty top now. 3/2 suit for September to October. I ski the early morning shift....the insulation takes the bite out on the initial dunk.
Baller_ MISkier Posted August 12, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted August 12, 2013 O'Neill Hyperfreak heater top. It's great. However, I'll probably have to break out the drysuit soon. I get cold easily. 140 pounds + 48 pulse + no hair = cold. The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.

Baller davemac Posted August 12, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2013 yeah, crazy weather for August here in New England. Over the last couple weeks in N.H., I've worn my Camaro 1mm shorty just about every time out.
Gold Member Than_Bogan Posted August 12, 2013 Gold Member Share Posted August 12, 2013 Happened to be in Maine on Saturday night. Temp was in the 40s. Even here in "southern" New England, we're looking at overnight in the 50s every day this week. Ridiculous for August. But I guess I'll take this over more rain. I can always bust out my drysuit, but I have no means to beat down backwash.
Porkfight
Shorts and a vest in lower elevations here in SoCal for another month or so, but I want to pick up a UV blocking long-sleeve rash guard this week to use for the rest of the season. I don't much care for skin cancer.
Baller oldjeep Posted August 12, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2013 We're in the 50's here most nights. Short suit is fine for the 7AM runs and just the jacket for afternoons. It's not cold until you get some light snow during a run ;)
Baller Skoot1123 Posted August 12, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2013 Still nice temps around here.... but I have an Oneil 1mm thick long sleeved heater shirt that is awesome. I used it this spring a couple times, and will most certainly use it when the temps get a bit colder toward the beginning of September.
JMLVMI
Was just in central VT for vacation last week. Didn't bring any sort of wetsuit or heater, and let's just say getting in the water was REFRESHING!
Baller_ RichardDoane Posted August 12, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted August 12, 2013 Broho water temp has finally gotten to the mid 70's, I heard it described as "bathtub" this weekend !
Baller Not_The_Pug Posted August 12, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2013 @richarddoane Bell Acqua's water temp dropped below 80 and Steph got out her heavy O'Neil top. :)
Baller_ RichardDoane Posted August 12, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted August 12, 2013 I just started wearing my short sleeve gooru, but only if the sun is out strong
Baller rayn Posted August 12, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2013 @than_bogan, I actually broke out my heater top this morning. There was sun, but absolutely no humidity, so it felt even colder.
Baller mellig Posted August 12, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2013 O'neill 1mm thick long sleeved heater shirt works through the summer months to cut the early morning chill on Lake Washington. Lake is 75 degrees, but nice to have a little extra in the early morning cool temperatures.
Baller jipster43 Posted August 13, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 13, 2013 I got chilled to the bone during my first set on Sunday. Had to put the 4/3 wetsuit on for my second set. It sure was nice feeling warm!
Baller gregy Posted August 13, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 13, 2013 It was 100 by noon today in Austin.
Baller ejj Posted August 13, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 13, 2013 @bananaron I just got back from a week at Woman Lake. Skied one morning at 55*. This summer has been ridiculous.
ToddF
Mid 90's and water in mid 80's all summer long. here in Washington
Baller xrated Posted August 13, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 13, 2013 @ejj summer, is that what it was those few hot days? I use my old wetsuit until Memorial Day in north central MN. Ditch that for the .5mm neo top. Wear that most all summer just out of habit I guess. But it sure helps on the morning and sunset trips.
Baller ForrestGump Posted August 13, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 13, 2013 Holy cow. What I wouldn't give for 70 degree water, @richarddoane ! Water has been 95-97 the last couple of weeks here.
Baller Glydon Posted August 13, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 13, 2013 60 degree air temps here at 7am in Atlantic Canada ... wearing a O'neill Revenge vest and Oneill boardies ... will not put shorty suit on until 40 range.
Baller A_B Posted August 14, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 14, 2013 Air and water mid-70, nothing but my ski trunks and vest. Supposed to be in 40's tonight. This iis NW Ohio and Mid-August? Can't tell you how many ski days we missed with rain, high winds, or both. Cold we can deal with.

Baller Skoot1123 Posted August 14, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 14, 2013 Got down to 50 last night in central Illinois. I'd welcome the hot 85F - 90F degree weather any day now. If I really want to get picky - make sure the water temp doesn't get above 80F!
