Baller skibug Posted September 3, 2013 Baller Posted September 3, 2013 @Doug, How about places to get a pull or ski schools. I will be out there (Pheonix) the 2nd week of November on business; but, looking to get in a couple days of skiing.
Baller rwskier Posted September 4, 2013 Baller Posted September 4, 2013 @skibug there are not many places that will just pull a few sets in the Phoenix area. You might check this out and then Contact Dave Buchli directly. http://www.buchliskilake.com/
Baller rwskier Posted September 4, 2013 Baller Posted September 4, 2013 @Mark Petrie Hereare a couple of links that will help you. http://phoenixwaterfronttalk.com/2008/10/03/santan-lakeside-estates-in-gilbert-waterski-lake-community/ http://www.buchliskilake.com/ http://phoenixwaterfronttalk.com/2008/09/04/crystal-point-estates-waterski-heaven-arizona-style/ http://phoenixwaterfronttalk.com/2009/07/01/lakeside-ski-village-lot-for-sale/ http://springmountainskiranch.org/
Baller Mark Petrie Posted September 4, 2013 Author Baller Posted September 4, 2013 Thanks for the information. I am possibly looking to retire in Arizona and will be there in October on business and want to check out water ski real estate.
Baller Texas6 Posted September 4, 2013 Baller Posted September 4, 2013 And leave the great state of Texas? Say it isn't so neighbor
Baller Golfguy Posted October 18, 2013 Baller Posted October 18, 2013 Check out Lakeside Ski Village, in Gila Bend. :)
Baller Mark Petrie Posted October 19, 2013 Author Baller Posted October 19, 2013 I will be checking out Lakeside Ski Village. Thanks!
Baller Golfguy Posted October 19, 2013 Baller Posted October 19, 2013 I would be happy to answer any questions you may have, and I am not selling anything.
wcalroberts Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 @Mark - I own a lot at santan and live close by. Let me know if you have any questions or would like to take a look - there are a couple of lots available and one home that will be going up for sale (albeit a bit pricey - at least for my pocketbook)
Baller MarkM Posted October 20, 2013 Baller Posted October 20, 2013 I'm at lakeside. There are a few lots with homes for sale here.
Baller SusanT Posted October 21, 2013 Baller Posted October 21, 2013 Hi Mark, I have 4 homes listed for sale at Lakeside Ski Village. Actually, one of them will probably be sold this coming week but that still leaves 3 great options. You can check out my real estate website www.susantalarico.com or my waterski ski site www.waterskiarizona.com Dave Buchli no longer sells memeberships at his lake, the homes available at SanTan do not have ski rights, Crystal point has one home for sale for over $1M. You can get in at Lakeside for under $299k. Also wanted to let you know that I am also a skier & owner at Lakeside, not just a person that put up a website claiming to be a "water ski property specialist." All my contact info is on my website.
Baller SusanT Posted October 21, 2013 Baller Posted October 21, 2013 Hey Bob, If you are looking just for a couple of sets when you are in AZ , contact Ed Fisher at Firebird Ski Club (at Firebird Raceway) E-mail Address: fsd2@cox.net Phone: 602-482-7571
Baller 6balls Posted October 22, 2013 Baller Posted October 22, 2013 @susanT nice, I like the looks of Buckeye and cost seems reasonable. Too bad my kids still in school here in southern canada.
Baller SusanT Posted October 22, 2013 Baller Posted October 22, 2013 @6balls---keep Lakeside in mind. We are at a "turnover" point where owners are selling because of lifestyle changes (kids gone, relocating or health issues). There is a good chance that something will be available when you are ready to make the move.
Baller ForrestGump Posted October 22, 2013 Baller Posted October 22, 2013 Good time for this topic. I'm considering a change in employment that would have me traveling to Phoenix regularly.
Baller Skoot1123 Posted October 22, 2013 Baller Posted October 22, 2013 @shaneh - BOS isn't keeping you busy enough? Good luck!
Baller SusanT Posted October 23, 2013 Baller Posted October 23, 2013 susantalarico.com waterskiarizona
Baller SusanT Posted October 26, 2013 Baller Posted October 26, 2013 @Mark Petire, Nice meeting you and your wife out a Lakeside today.
Baller Mark Petrie Posted October 28, 2013 Author Baller Posted October 28, 2013 Susan: Great to meet you also. Thanks for the "detailed" tour.
Baller SusanT Posted October 29, 2013 Baller Posted October 29, 2013 Mark: You are most welcome. Hope to see you back in Arizona.
Baller SusanT Posted May 10, 2014 Baller Posted May 10, 2014 If we told you where it is, we would have to kill you. It is an undisclosed water ski location in the desert..
Baller SusanT Posted May 10, 2014 Baller Posted May 10, 2014 Shhhh....top secret, covert activities taking place.
Baller escmanaze Posted February 9, 2015 Baller Posted February 9, 2015 Hey @SusanT what is the scoop on Playa Del Rey. I see properties available there, but the lake actually looks like it would be too small for a full size slalom course on there. Do they actually have course skiing at Playa Del Rey? Or is it actually called Arizona Ski Springs?
Baller SusanT Posted February 10, 2015 Baller Posted February 10, 2015 Hey @escmanaze, You are correct. Playa Del Rey is too short for a slalom course. It was originally designed as a cable lake, thus the short lake. It also has some odd lake rules. Motorized boating days are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8 am until sunset. You can only fill your gas tank to 3/4 full. Max speed is 35 mph. Bottom line, it is purely a recreational lake with some rules that keep serious skiers away. Personally, even on a private, I do like to ski before 8 am.
Baller mwetskier Posted February 10, 2015 Baller Posted February 10, 2015 @SusanT -ski before 8am? i can beat that -i like to ski in my sleep.
Baller escmanaze Posted February 11, 2015 Baller Posted February 11, 2015 Oh, wow, those are some interesting rules indeed. That's too bad because the prices were looking awfully affordable. Now I see why. What about that lot on Santan for 177? What's the catch on that one? Seems too good to be true. Thanks again for the info.
Baller SusanT Posted February 11, 2015 Baller Posted February 11, 2015 @escmanaze Are you referring to the lot at Buchli Lake in the Santan Valley or a lot at Santan Lakeside? If it is at Santan Lakeside, it is not a lot on the lake and does not have ski privileges.
Baller escmanaze Posted February 12, 2015 Baller Posted February 12, 2015 Oh interesting, that would make a lot of sense as to why it is so affordable. The ad, however, at that point is quite deceiving as it sure does to infer that it would be a full privilege lakeside lot. Interesting. Thanks much for the info.
Baller SusanT Posted February 12, 2015 Baller Posted February 12, 2015 @escmanaze Where are you seeing the ad? Ski-it-Again or elsewhere? The one on Ski-it-Again is at Buchli lake, which is in the Santan Valley. It is NOT Santan Lakeside. They are 2 different lakes. The only lot for sale at Santan Lakeside at this time is listed to $549k.
Baller escmanaze Posted February 13, 2015 Baller Posted February 13, 2015 Oh, look at that, you are right again. Yup, that 177 lot is at Buchli, not at Santan. Ok, well that explains it. Thanks much.
Baller SusanT Posted February 8, 2016 Baller Posted February 8, 2016 @bananaron Thanks! The goal was to give a fair and objective portrayal of all the lakes. Different strokes for different folks, different lakes for different lifestyles.
Baller rodltg2 Posted February 9, 2016 Baller Posted February 9, 2016 @scotchipman 30 lots on one ski lake ! hate to see the wait for a set on a Saturday afternoon !
