Baller alex38 Posted September 5, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 5, 2013 Is anyone using stradas with interloc? and if so, could you share how its generally (or specifically) done? I had a bad fall this spring and wife wants me to look at full releasing systems and I cant afford a reflex. Thanks in advance guys.
Baller Chef23 Posted September 5, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 5, 2013 I am not right now but I have used a Strada binding on a G10 plate which was stuck to the ski with interloc. It worked fine I came out of the binding and the plate never came off the ski. I think you could mostly cover the bottom of the Strada plate with interloc and stick it permanently to the ski and it would work fine.
Baller alex38 Posted September 5, 2013 Author Baller Share Posted September 5, 2013 Cool, did strada binding mount directly to g-10? Or did you have to attach the binding to a plate and then mount on g-10? And is g-10 plate lighter? sorry for all the questions.

Baller scuppers Posted September 5, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 5, 2013 Ditto to what @scotchipman said. It works perfectly.
Baller Chef23 Posted September 5, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 5, 2013 @alex38 I had the Strada binding on its regular plate which was screwed to a G10 plate which was then stuck to the ski. I used the regular Strada release. It would be equally possible to do what @scotchipman is saying and mount the Stradas directly to the G10 plate. Baller alex38 Posted September 5, 2013 Author Baller Share Posted September 5, 2013 So if my plan was to use dual loc tape as a release; I would use 6 total strips of sj3870 (about 5 yards) and it would be 3 on ski, 3 on plate, 250 ct to 250 ct (not 400?) is there a diagram for where the strips go exactly? tbrenchley
I use the same set up as @Scotchipman and use the dual lock as the release because I like the bindings to be tight. I have 4 strips of dual lock on the plate and on my ski (8 strips total)
Baller alex38 Posted September 5, 2013 Author Baller Share Posted September 5, 2013 Okay cool, so.. 3 or 4 strips down entire plate depending on weight. (170)
tbrenchley
I'm 155lbs and use 4 but it's not an exact science. I pull really hard (ask Scot Chipman) and actually have 2 stips of 400 on my plate but would not recommend that for everyone. Scot is about the same weight as me and has 4 strips of 250 on his ski and plate. If I were you I might start with 3 to protect a bad fall and not coming off the ski and if you release on an easy crash you can always add more. I started with 4 strips of 250 and worked my way up to having 400 just because of my style of skiing and it works perfectly for me.
Baller GOODESkier Posted September 6, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 6, 2013 I use the powershell 5's and had my first release of the season the other day. BIG out the front. Thought it might have been a career ending crash as I was tasting blood and feeling extremely loopy. Bindings immediately released. I am not sure of the exact science here, but I might be skeptical of setting the plate to release in a non hard shell set up. Meaning, is it safe to tighten the "softer shell" binding really tight and rely on the interlock? I have seen many people who permanently interlock the softer bindings to the ski and rely on just the soft release. Like I said, I have no experience, but question the process on that one. Baller jipster43 Posted September 6, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 6, 2013 I bought a G10 plate from @teammalibu and mounted my RS-1's to the plate myself using Mike's instructions. I then dual locked the G10 plate to the ski so it would NOT release as I use the RS-1's release design. It works great! I always assumed this setup would allow for the most flex but have been told otherwise by someone who did a flex test of a ski mounted with dual lock versus a ski mounted with screws (which plates were used I don't know). I have never used dual lock for a release, but would it allow more flex if it was mounted horizontally rather than vertically?
