larrynipon
12 year old male, 100 lbs. skiing in the course at 26.7 15 off, getting 2-3 balls no gates. I'm looking to spend up to $500 for a slalom ski that will last him at least 2 seasons starting next summer. I'm figuring he'll go into the season at 120 lbs. He is 5'5", great athlete and has made huge strides in his 1st season (didn't start until August!) ever being on a slalom ski. I will go new or ever-so-slightly used. He will be skiing open-toe rear. He will get into 32mph by end of next season, probably cleaning his 15 off pass. I appreciate any suggestions.
Baller Kelvin Posted September 8, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 8, 2013 Any recent 65 inch D3 would be a good choice. It will work with him at the slower speeds, but will also work at 34 and 36 as he grows.
Baller Chef23 Posted September 8, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 8, 2013 If you don't ski year round I might wait until next year to see how big he is. I would get him on the biggest ski he can turn right now so it can grow with him. I put my son on a 66.5" A2 when he was about 5' 2" 125 and he could turn it and it has taken him to 5'8" 160.
