Baller Garn Posted October 2, 2013 Baller Report Posted October 2, 2013 I was looking at the ski sites on Google Earth and saw SkiTek - Chris Rossi's old place. Now that Rossi is no longer there, I was just wondering whatever happened to that place. Has anybody taken if over? Anybody ski there now? Garn
Baller MattP Posted October 3, 2013 Baller Report Posted October 3, 2013 I think they still have a slalom course, but @E_T may know
Baller jcamp Posted October 3, 2013 Baller Report Posted October 3, 2013 You can see a course on google maps.
Baller Drago Posted October 4, 2013 Baller Report Posted October 4, 2013 ...And you can't see the ugly town home they built in front of my house 10 years ago where there used to be a perfectly good meadow
Baller theboardingschool Posted October 5, 2013 Baller Report Posted October 5, 2013 I took it over last year. We have two slalom courses, one North/South, one East/West. The lakes are incredibly protected, so they stay calm no matter what the wind is doing. Right now, I have a really good 2012 MasterCraft Prostar 197 and will hopefully be getting a new ProStar relatively soon. Please check out our website for pics and video. www.theboardingschool.com Thanks, Travis Moye Drago, I think you have us confused. We are the only house on the property, and in front of us is a veterinarian and a plumbing supply.
Baller Drago Posted October 5, 2013 Baller Report Posted October 5, 2013 Uh, I was (sarcastically as usual) pointing out that Google maps isn't real time. The pics in my area are over 11 years old.
Baller Garn Posted October 5, 2013 Author Baller Report Posted October 5, 2013 @theboardingschool, It looks like you are more of a wakeboarding school than anything else. All your pros are wake boarders. But you have a nice Prostar so there is still skiing available.
rabbittrail Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 Travis is an awesome slalom coach, and runs shortline slalom with his eyes closed behind the prostar on any given day!
Baller Garn Posted October 6, 2013 Author Baller Report Posted October 6, 2013 I'm not sure what "runs shortline slalom with his eyes closed behind the prostar on any given day" means.
Baller theboardingschool Posted October 6, 2013 Baller Report Posted October 6, 2013 @garn I grew up doing competitive 3 event skiing, and spent most of that time working along side several of the best coaches in the world. So, I do all of the coaching if anyone comes out, but all of my guys appreciate skiing, occasionally turn and burn themselves, and can drive it. So, although we are primarily a wakeboard school, we welcome skiers as well. I have a dream that one day water skiers, wakeboarders, and wakeskaters can all stand on the same dock and think that what each other is doing is cool. I know it may be far fetched, but I'm still holding out hope, and trying to establish a place to do just that.
Baller kstateskier Posted October 7, 2013 Baller Report Posted October 7, 2013 I've taken alot of sets at SkiTek - and the lakes are sweet! I especially like slalom lake one - shoot the gap, turn and slalom the back lake. Great workout! Haven't been there since Rossi and Williams left, but the site is cool.
