You would think that 3@38 in both prelim rounds and 4@38 in the finals would take it but not so. The crown goes to another. I had to stand in the fourth spot. But, happy to do so. Do to the format, some very excited kids and young men got to stand and relish in the the excitement of it all. Better them then an old fart like me. I apologize for not knowing their names. They deserve recognition and hopefully names will get posted soon. All I know is I had a blast. Met a few more balllers, enjoyed seeing some old faces and enjoyed watching the Pros meer feet away. Huge thanks to Whitestone, Waterski Atlanta, @OB and all who busted their butt to make it happen. I'll be back. Whose gonna join the fun next year?? :-)

When @MattP says all day, he means ALL DAY. Every time I skied (3 rounds) there he was in the boat with @webbdawg99‌ behind the wheel. So thanks to them both. And they both had hats and long sleeve SPF shirts on. Cool to see young guys looking out for themselves long term.

@Wish between skiing, driving my wrangler with no top and on the river coaching rowing 5-8 hours a day. I get a lot of sun and have seen too many of my older friends pay the price. I want to keep this lifestyle up for as long as possible.

Yes Kris LaPoint is a beast! Here's a good pic of him getting vertical. He's one of the reasons I'm in this sport.....I remember watching him about 30 years ago!

What a great day at the ProAm! Big thanks to OB, Webbdawg, MattP, and Mike Mosely for all their hard work in putting on a world class event.

MattP, I was boat judge both times when you skied.....My two cents is you need to be on a longer ski. You looked good but your ski is extremely squirrelly and not very stable. (IMHO).

John Cox, nice to meet you. I hope the arm injury isn't too serious.

He drove to Walmart Sunday night to buy a grinder. He forgot to bring one of his other 3. I'm not kidding. But, he did freely help my friend remove a couple gnarly screws holding down some old bindings he was changing out. We couldn't gettm. He did in a matter of minutes. 67ys old and goes deep 39. What a mind and what a skier.

Had a great time at the ProAm once again. Got to see lots of folks I already know, and meet a few new ones. Thanks to @OB @webbdawg99‌ @MattP‌ @mmosley899 for putting on a great event.

Nice to meet you too, @oneski. Unfortunately, I am done. Complete tear of the tendon at the base of my bicep. Surgery on Monday....3 weeks immobile, 3 months nothing, then 3 months of light..Won't ski for 6 months. My season is done...

@oneski thx. I agree I'm up to 160lbs right now from lack of skiing and other factors which is too big for my 65" @Connelly_Skis_Inc‌ Prophecy. I've had about 15+ people I would say tell me the same thing.... Even their pro team rider @JoelHowley‌ told me to be on a 66". @mmosley899‌ and I have tried new fin settings with no change to the skis attitude in the water. Not too sure what to do now. I'm thinking I can start using my FrankinSki again or my Elite again they are the right size skis.. Though I really like my prophecy and I want to continue riding it just not sure where to go from here @Horton‌ . I'm struggling to run 28 these days

@JohnCox‌ sorry about the injury. Get well soon!

@wtrskior‌ yeah... Props to you an A2-3 is a much different shape than a Prophecy. There are some 13 66" Prophecy's for sale for around $500. But for this college kid that's out of my price range. Due to the loss of the lake and buying a new release for my bindings I'm having to count my pennies to ski elsewhere. Just not in the budget right now to buy another stick.

Note to @wish: K LaP is "only" 61. Born Jan. 23, 1953. Once we are getting on a bit, we

don't need any added age. Wonder how he will do in October at the 35+ Worlds

in the Men 55+ division. Sure hope that I can attend that event.

All these posts and no mention of the amateur winner? RIcky Walters of Augusta, GA. Great skiing, Ricky!

@JohnCox Sorry about your injury, but wish to point out that your season is far from over. Just because you can't ski, there is plenty you can do. Work on your judge's, driver's and scorer's ratings. Become a safety director. Get your coach's license, or improve your rating. Drive over to Tommy Harrington's, Jeff Gilbert's or Chris Eller's and take some driving lessons. Your injury isn't an impediment; it is an opportunity.

Great point @Ipskier. I don't plan on disappearing. I rode and coached today...will do that and drive (after surgery) as often as possible. And I do plan on working on drivers rating. Thank you.

And thank you for pointing out Ricky's win! Great job!!

@JohnCox -- I had the same injury a number of years ago now. Ripped it lifting my dock when I put it in early April. Missed a season. Fortunately I have two other skiers in the family, so I was still in the boat almost every day. I also used that time to focus on a different kind of conditioning than I usually do. I rode an exercise bike while it was in a sling, and as soon as I could after it was out I rode outside for 10 miles a day. I was religious about the PT for the arm and it has been 100% ever since. Good luck with the surgery and recovery!

Is this the event that several ballers funded. I admit that I had no interest in the event but you would think that anyone that funded it would like to see the event. It has been almost a month, correct?

@MattP‌ I had no interest in the event because I was not one of the ballers that helped to fund the web cast. I had no interest in the web cast because I do not find watching slalom all that exciting. I would much prefer to watch high level trick or jump. I am also lucky in the fact that I can watch from my back door while enjoying a cold adult beverage some very high level slalom skiers each night. There are four open or MM rated skiers who are in my back yard on a regular basis. Bring me jump or tricks and I will pay to watch.

@ntx sounds like your a lucky guy. So why even bother wondering how long it takes to produce a video or if it even bothers anyone. I watched the gentleman that shot and produced the video. Lot of work for very little $$. I'm gonna guess most would rather watch something a month later then not at all. That is about the only alternative. Enjoy your view. Sounds like a good one.
