Baller WBLskier Posted April 27, 2015 Baller Share Posted April 27, 2015 I have a 3600 lb cantilever vibo boat lift. the winch just failed so I need to replace it. I was planning to just buy one from Vibo, but does anyone have any good ideas on other options? I've always just had a manual winch but would be open to other options. Thanks. Baller Fine409 Posted April 27, 2015 Baller Share Posted April 27, 2015 I've got the same lift. How did it fail? Did the cable just snap or something else?
Baller Nando Posted April 27, 2015 Baller Share Posted April 27, 2015 I also have a Vibo and we had to replace the winch on the lift at our family place and found their price to be below anything else we could find. I ski with a guy who has their power winch and it's very slow but has lasted for years.
Baller WBLskier Posted April 27, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted April 27, 2015 Cable snapped. Then teeth on winch got bound up. It was a pretty old winch.
Baller GAJ0004 Posted April 27, 2015 Baller Share Posted April 27, 2015 Get the factory parts. You will be better off in the long run. The nice thing about cantilever style lifts is you can change the cables without taking it out of the water. If it is easy to wind up then an electric motor is a waste of money. I have a 1985 Shorestation vertical which my dad and I rebuilt in 2006. All lifts other than mine are easy to crank up.
