Have you ever had somebody just shout out a quick fix adjustment during or after a set based on their observations? Pretend you're that person observing. Assume the skier has fundamentally sound technique. What quick fix adjustment would you suggest to somebody for each of the following?

1. Sluggish on side turn

2. Sluggish off side turn

3. Does not decelerate in pre-turn

4. Decelerates too quickly in pre-turn

5. Hitches/Bites coming out of on side turn

6. Hitches/Bites coming out of off side turn

7. The tip rises at finish of turn

8. Chronically narrow at the buoy.

1. Check edge change location and balance/stack on the ski. Not carrying enough speed, maybe changing edge too soon (flat into the wake or riding tail).

2. Same as #1.

3. Pulling too long, not changing edge soon enough.

4. Probably standing on the tip of the ski or bending at the waist. Be balanced.

5. Possibly bending at waist or dropping hips back. Get hips up.

6. Same as #6, but with some additional counter rotation likely needed as well

7. Be balanced, don't bend back leg and don't drop hips back to avoid riding the tail.

8. Handle control. Two hands on the handle and elbows to vest well after wake.

One additional comment: backup from where you notice the problem to see where you have lost ground. It could be the gate or even the pullout and glide for the gate that set you up for the issues.

For 1,2,5,6, the ski should be out in front of you without you riding the tail.

The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.

I think @gginco was looking for basic guidelines on what changes to make to address those different problems. Not that one skier had all of those issues.

Schnitz used to have a list of adjustments to make on his website somewhere but I think he took it down and started charging for it.
