@scotchipman dropped a link to this drysuit, which claims to be made for waterskiing -- and custom fit no less.

http://www.hammond-drysuits.co.uk/hs-ski-water-skiing-dry-suit-adult-m2m.html (Had some trouble accessing this link at one point, but seems to be back.)

I am still looking for a new drysuit to love as much as the old Sahara. Anybody try this one?

I sorta like the idea of the "hybrid," but the one I tried (Oneil) had several problems: hair-pulling neck seal, poor durability, and not really dry enough (even new).

Btw, for those too lazy to look up the currency conversion, that's around $725. So that's by far the most expensive option of anything I've looked at. But if it lasted for years and was comfortable and durable, it could be worth it.

I have a 19 year old O'Neill Assault 2 mil drysuit that is still in excellent condition. I use it for 3 to 5 days a year on average. The first couple spring rides and the last couple fall rides. Used on Saturday morning in CT - water 58, air 60. I'll probably move to my 21 year old O'Neill BLP Assault 3/4 suit this coming weekend. I've been wearing that one 20+ times a year since '94 and it's still in good shape. Used it for two season in Berkeley Aquatic Park - salt water for the first two seasons. Unless a lot has changed I'd have a hard time not sticking with O'Neill.

@scotchipman I have found same. Lowest drag most comfortable baggy I've had is the Oneill boost. Easy on, easy off, neoprene neck. No mobility restrictions...just the water drag on hole shot and air drag once up. I'm ok with the drag for early spring/late fall. I sometimes ski lunch hour in my work clothes and go back to work.

Don't understand why we can't get better sealing neo legs. I'd even take a neo leg suit with latex seals at the ankles for redundancy to stay dry.

@scotchipman The boost is full baggy, neoprene neck, latex at ankles and wrists. Less material and a little more form fitting than other baggies I've had and thus less drag. Integrated farmer john straps help fit. The latex seals are not super tight, either like a Seipel suit but enough to stay dry...making easy on, easy off. I take just a squeak of water on my left wrist seal on hole shots.

I spent two hours in the water swimming a course up off the bottom that had been in the muck a long time and was dry even left wrist/arm...so must be something about the way the water is rushing on that side on hole shot.

@scotchipman they still make the boost for baggy lovers. I ripped a seal and sent in for repair, ordered a new one as well. Good to have a back up for baggy suits as a seal can go suddenly and all dryness lost! I have a pretty damp Assault as well...way better than nothing.
