Baller jetpilotg4 Posted November 13, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2015 So I'm heading down this river and all I can think is what an amazing ski site this would make .... Too bad it's the Nile river in NW Uganda
Baller dchristman Posted November 13, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2015 You could probably have that ski site all to yourself for the rest of your (potentially shorter) life. On the plus side there are no alligators.
Baller A_B Posted November 13, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2015 I don't think Crocs like buoys?

Baller Edbrazil Posted November 13, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2015 No gators? That's a croc.
Baller jetpilotg4 Posted November 13, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted November 13, 2015 The crocks I'm told like to kind congregate further up river, but I believe the hippos would make for bad neighbors as well
Baller dchristman Posted November 13, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2015 Just be sure to wear your Camaro. The crocs and hippos probably don't like rubber and will spit you out. It may also protect you from the more terrifying threat that will kill you slowly ... the parasitic worms. Yeah, go ahead and set up that new site! I think you'll be OK :-j
Baller Chef23 Posted November 13, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2015 How are we going to spread the joys of slalom skiing with all this negativity. Have at it and let us know how it works out.
Baller A_B Posted November 13, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2015 and make sure you don't warm the water up....
Baller dchristman Posted November 13, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2015 @Chef23 You're right, let's stop the negativity. We're just assuming the worst without firsthand experience. Will one of the Ugandan skiers out there on BOS check out that site when you have a chance and get back to us? It could be an excellent site for a new ski school to spread the joy. Members CaleBurdick
I skied in neighboring Kenya. The lake had crocs and hippos so I did a dock start and landing just to say I'd skied. Apparently the Kenyans are only afraid of the shallow water. The next weekend we went white water rafting on the Nile in Uganda(I bet I've rafted that very part of the river pictured above). Falling off the raft in the rapids was only dangerous due to the rocks, but they said not to get off the raft in the calm water areas!!!
