If you get desperate, ZO still has pucks for sale on its website. So does Miami Ski Nautique, but they are both very high priced ($450+). I wonder if a puck from an old Perfect Pass system would work. There ought to be some of those available. Have you tried unplugging the pucks and plugging them back in? No guarantee, but sometimes that brings them back to life. Or reverse where they are plugged in.

Well...... since I will need to buy a new single puck for a backup for my 2016, I could sell you one of my dual puck backups. They are good ones before the serial number cutoff where they were changed. They were both unused until this spring when I had to use them for about a month until they were able to supply some good ones for my 2015. I only had them laying on my dash, so the double stick tape is still unused. PM me if you are interested.

Before you blame a spontaneous double failure on the hardware, try a reset. Same thing happened to my boat and I was able to fix it through menu choices. Search this site for the "Darn Russians - or did my GPS just fail" thread for the instructions to fix it. Worth a try.

It wasn't a spontaneous double failure. One had failed sometime in the past and gave no indication. To be on the safe side, you should go to the diagnostic screen regularly to see if one has failed. Be proactive and you won't be left with none working. But that assumes that you can get a replacement. That you can still get them from PP in the future.

Thanks All, I did a reset a few times but did not resolve issue. I contacted Skip and have two replacements in route(PP units with firmware for ZO) If i could I would have gone for the new single puck unit, but they dont seem to be ready for prime time yet.

JackQ, it might be too late to tell you this but you should also try unplugging the battery or turning the breaker off for about 5 minutes then replug or turn the breaker back on and start the boat immediately. My sn200 pucks sometimes fail when I leave the boat in the water with the bilge on for a while or simply if I forget to turn the breaker off but after doing this they always come back. Its been doing that since I bought the boat 3 years ago. Ive read on this site somewhere berore that the pucks need a lot of power at startup an for some reason the nautique lacks that bit of power to send to the pucks. I think its because the electrical system drains a bit of energy even when the boat is turned off or something..worth a try whatever boat you have.

Here are the directions that worked for me from the Darn Russians thread:

Thanks to baller Greg Chapman who called me and gave me the directions to reset the ZO. I cleared the error message that had both GPSs failed and my ZO acquired and is now working. I ordered a backup puck - I hope it's wasted money and I never need to install it.

Here are Greg's directions :

Push and hold on/off/menu

When the page comes up, use the arrows to highlight and select SCREEN

Arrow to DIAGNOSTICS and select

Select to clear HISTORY

Press on/off/menu twice to exit back to the normal display (note that this worked perfectly the first time but was a bit weird when I was checking just now - lots of random multiple button pushing, mostly on/off/menu, got me back to the normal screen with a working GPS display).

My ZO worked great for 3 years in Washington State but when I moved to FL it had issues. Resets and battery disconnects worked and eventually the frequency of failure went down. No idea why. Now every 3-4 months both pucks will come up dead. Disconnect battery (nautique has switch), swap puck connectors, turn back on and they come right back up. Very odd but seems like a bug in the system. Guess is changing plugs changes puck addresses which forces the system to reinitialize.

Thanks all. I tired resetting, switch plugs, disconnecting power for one hour, etc multiple times without success. I was able to get a "Perfect Pass" puck with firmware for ZO, at it resolved my issue. I may get some spares just in case!

i just checked gpscity.com and it looks like they still have the Garmin pucks for $139...see my old post on my replacemnt of a couple of years ago

Replaced the two pucks on my '08LXi this summer. Called ZO tech support. He told me the price of new pucks AND without my prompt said I should be able to find them for less money elsewhere. Gave me the part # GArmin GPS18x-5Hz. At that time, the cheapest I found was at www.gpscity.com...$139.95. Installed them and ZO system worked fine immediately.
