Baller Ski_Dad Posted December 23, 2015 Baller Posted December 23, 2015 Hi Guys, debating on the Radar P6 and HO TX. I'm currently 220 and ski 28-30. Intermediate free skier. Not sure I want to go past 30 mph on our public lakes and outboard ski boat. Anyhow, saw a 2015 TX the other day and love the green and yellow color scheme but it's about 200 bucks more than the P6. seems more aggressive and made me wonder if it will always want to be on edge - sometimes our lake gets choppy and i need to take a 5 second break at times. I gotta make a good choice because I only have one blessing from the wife - ha ha
Baller jpattigr Posted December 23, 2015 Baller Posted December 23, 2015 P6 Skis great!! I have one for big lake skiing and early season pass's at slow speeds, Weigh about 235 and ski tracks and turns awesome!
Baller Chef23 Posted December 23, 2015 Baller Posted December 23, 2015 For what you want to do I would probably go with the P6.
Baller ALPJr Posted December 24, 2015 Baller Posted December 24, 2015 TX is a great ski. One of my ski buds went to a Superlite TX this year and improved about 2 full passes over his old Monza.
Industry Professional MarcusBrown Posted December 24, 2015 Industry Professional Posted December 24, 2015 @Mitzysman it may or may not matter much to you, but part of the reason the TX is a bit more, is because it's Made in the USA. Best all around ski you can buy. Design, build quality, performance, and satisfaction at the end of a day well spent on the lake. Ask me if you have any more questions and I'll try to answer for you. No, it doesn't wanna hunt,...and yes, it is very stable when it's flat and going straight. MB
Baller Ski_Dad Posted December 26, 2015 Author Baller Posted December 26, 2015 thank you all ! Mr. Brown - do you think the 69" TX will get down to 28 MPH with my weight ? or will i have to ski faster ?
bogboy Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 @Mitzysman, the tx sl is an excellent ski for free skiing, and in the course. Over the last several years, I tried higher performance skis, and ended up going back to my triumph, then a tx sl, and now I am loving my cx sl. The tx sl likes 28 m.p.h. In the course just fine. You will like it. Good luck.
Industry Professional MarcusBrown Posted December 27, 2015 Industry Professional Posted December 27, 2015 @Mitzysman a 69" TX should get you down to 28 mph no problem, and make it feel butter smooth.
Baller ALPJr Posted December 28, 2015 Baller Posted December 28, 2015 My ski bud is men 8, skis at 30mph, his average increased almost two passes this year to 3 1/2 @ 35off after trading his Monza for a Superlite TX
Baller Ski_Dad Posted December 30, 2015 Author Baller Posted December 30, 2015 does HO and others publish a chart like this with sq inches and width ? Radar Site
Baller Chef23 Posted December 30, 2015 Baller Posted December 30, 2015 @Mitzysman not all do and I believe HO doesn't. Goode used to have sq inch charts around on their website not sure if they still do.
