Baller Kelvin Posted June 2, 2016 Baller Posted June 2, 2016 I saw this on facebook and thought it needed to be posted here as well. @east tx skier do you know these guys? Here's the link Save George Ward's Ski Course
Baller ski6jones Posted June 2, 2016 Baller Posted June 2, 2016 I know this guy. He skied at Cottonwood in Shreveport periodically. Sign the petition!
Gold Member Than_Bogan Posted June 2, 2016 Gold Member Posted June 2, 2016 Can USA Water Ski help? This is exactly what they SHOULD be involved in. (And I signed of course)
Baller unksskis Posted June 2, 2016 Baller Posted June 2, 2016 Seems like there's more to the story. I'm in full support of the course, and hope it can remain. Will share with others, but hope to get more info on what initiated this change in enforcement.
Baller Kelvin Posted June 2, 2016 Author Baller Posted June 2, 2016 I just sent an email to the SCR representative on the waterways committee.
Baller unksskis Posted June 2, 2016 Baller Posted June 2, 2016 I agree @Than_Bogan is what USA-WS should be involved with. I think more information is needed beforehand though. Looking at the map, my major assumption is; this is at the back of a residential cove that is past no wake bouys, but responsible use of the course has been allowed or grandfathered in. Now, for some reason; complaint, issue, instance, occurrence, etc may have initiated them to uphold the no wake markings. Again, assumption, it would be great for someone familiar with the situation to inform of what they may be able to. Also find this comment interesting from the petition site; "He has been skiing on this course for years, so it's not fair to let a bunch of punks who acted like idiots over Memorial weekend to ruin it for him!"
Baller gsm_peter Posted June 2, 2016 Baller Posted June 2, 2016 Support from Sweden provided. Signed.
Baller gregy Posted June 3, 2016 Baller Posted June 3, 2016 Fisherman outnumber skiers in Texas unbelievably. I had looked into putting a course in on some local lakes and was told no way. Good luck.
Baller ForrestGump Posted June 3, 2016 Baller Posted June 3, 2016 The USA WS waterways committee is worthless. We've contacted them before about stuff and ZERO was done. Let me restate that, less than zero was done.
