hogexpress Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Don't see these anymore. Guessing they stopped making them. Anyone know of a similar style replacement? Thanks
Gold Member Than_Bogan Posted December 20, 2016 Gold Member Posted December 20, 2016 NO! But if you find one, buy me ten of them. Although a little more restrictive than the newest ones, the Sahara was much warmer and much more durable than today's offerings. I ran roughly 10% of my lifetime's successful -38s in one of those. (Ok, I did it twice...)
Baller_ lpskier Posted December 20, 2016 Baller_ Posted December 20, 2016 Ditto what @Than_Bogan said, except I don't have any 38's to my drysuit credit. Surely a 32, maybe a 35. Never a 38. Sahara's are the best, warmest drysuit out there. If you have one that needs fixing (or any other wetsuit product from any company) try Blownout Wetsuit Repair in Santa Cruz, Ca., although Ski Warm used to repair them as well, for free, and they'd replace stuff that wasn't yet torn or leaking, "just in case." Ski Warm is great about that stuff. Lpskier
Baller 6balls Posted December 20, 2016 Baller Posted December 20, 2016 There's always been demand and a loyal following for these...why hasn't another firm picked up the design?
Baller Dirt Posted December 20, 2016 Baller Posted December 20, 2016 I agree. Mine finally died last winter after many years of service.
Baller PatM Posted December 21, 2016 Baller Posted December 21, 2016 I still have mine and it is in great condition. In the spring I do try to get in my Camaro Black Tec as soon as possible though. I can say that I have not had the success that @Than_Bogan has in his.
Baller thager Posted December 22, 2016 Baller Posted December 22, 2016 @OB1 What a Marine wears before he's scared!
Baller AKShortline Posted December 22, 2016 Baller Posted December 22, 2016 O'neill is coming out with a full neoprene drysuit in 3mm that you might like. I sent my hybrid suit back to them this fall and was told that suit is discontinued, replaced by the full neoprene. We shall see.
Baller ALPJr Posted December 23, 2016 Baller Posted December 23, 2016 I'm still very happy with my O'Neill Assault Drysuit 2mm (all neo) from 1996. It's in excellent shape. Gets used a handful of days per year.
sixball Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Still running my Sahara and so worried what I will go to after it dies. Any time frame on the O'neill ?
