Baller sunvalleylaw Posted December 23, 2016 Baller Posted December 23, 2016 arriving today. It said D3 on it. I think that my wife may have bought me a new ski for Christmas!! As some here know, I have been looking at ARCs. I talked it over with my brother recently, and he and my wife may have conspired. I can't think of who else it would be for. Wow! Ok, I better not jinx it. Unsee! Unsee!
Baller_ MISkier Posted December 23, 2016 Baller_ Posted December 23, 2016 I believe that new ski is required when you buy a new boat. The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
Baller_ DW Posted December 23, 2016 Baller_ Posted December 23, 2016 Remember when you sleep with it do not put it between you and the wife....and remember to be surprised when you open it. Congrats and sounds like wifey is a keeper.
Baller BraceMaker Posted December 23, 2016 Baller Posted December 23, 2016 Don't trust it. She might have snuck your old ski box out and bought you that crab rake you needed to grade the garden bed.
Baller BlueSki Posted December 23, 2016 Baller Posted December 23, 2016 Or your brother bought himself a new ski and is setting you up with an old broom in a new ski box, because that is what brothers do.
Baller sunvalleylaw Posted December 23, 2016 Author Baller Posted December 23, 2016 @BlueSki now seriously. That could be a possibility. LOL! He was looking too.
Baller sunvalleylaw Posted December 23, 2016 Author Baller Posted December 23, 2016 It is really hard for me not to go digging right now and try to find more out.
Baller BlueSki Posted December 24, 2016 Baller Posted December 24, 2016 @sunvalleylaw, I hope that your brother is either not that cruel or just not that creative, good luck.
Baller Hockdog Posted December 24, 2016 Baller Posted December 24, 2016 Act surprised on Christmas morning.
Baller ScottScott Posted December 24, 2016 Baller Posted December 24, 2016 Was this really an "accident" or were you snooping?
Baller sunvalleylaw Posted December 24, 2016 Author Baller Posted December 24, 2016 @Mark_Matis No cats. But a little terrier mix, who serves as a cat substitute that does chew things. Not gonna trust that little beastie with that box. ;) And @ScottScott , no, no snooping. Was leaving for work and heading out to the car, and the guy showed up, and I was looking for stuff I had ordered as gifts. But, kinda hard to miss that type of box!
Baller sunvalleylaw Posted December 24, 2016 Author Baller Posted December 24, 2016 And I will act surprised on Christmas, should it really be that, as I am really stunned anyways!
Baller BlueSki Posted December 25, 2016 Baller Posted December 25, 2016 Send the update. I am headed to the basement to pull out a Radar box for someone tonight. Just waiting for them to be asleep.
Baller sunvalleylaw Posted December 25, 2016 Author Baller Posted December 25, 2016 OMG OMG OMG!!! So yes, it really was what I thought! I am blown away!! and had no problem being surprised! This is way above and beyond and I feel very blessed, and spoiled! I got her some nice normal gifts within the usual range, but nothing like this. Though I did get her a mountain bike earlier this year. Wow! Can't wait to try it.
Baller sunvalleylaw Posted December 25, 2016 Author Baller Posted December 25, 2016 But it does look like I will be waiting a while. ;)
Baller sunvalleylaw Posted December 25, 2016 Author Baller Posted December 25, 2016 The finish on this ski seems to be absolutely flawless!
Baller GaryWilkinson Posted December 25, 2016 Baller Posted December 25, 2016 Total keeper. Congrats and merry Christmas !
Baller Gar Posted December 25, 2016 Baller Posted December 25, 2016 Congrats Merry Christmas ski well on that new ski!
Baller MuskokaKy Posted December 28, 2016 Baller Posted December 28, 2016 Does your wife have a sister? lol
Baller skihard Posted December 29, 2016 Baller Posted December 29, 2016 I picked up a new to me temporary ride too. Ski is almost brand new. Rode it yesterday and need to move the bindings around. Will try again today or tomorrow!
Baller sunvalleylaw Posted January 3, 2017 Author Baller Posted January 3, 2017 I just spoke to Paul over at D3 after he called in reply to my email and they are very graciously going to allow me to demo both my yellow ARC and also a blue when it is skiing season again so I can keep the one that is the best for me. We also discussed my binding repair issues and will take care of that too. That is pretty dang awesome service if you ask me! Great folks!
Baller sunvalleylaw Posted May 28, 2017 Author Baller Posted May 28, 2017 At long last, should be able to get a run on my new ski. We got slowed down out here with poor weather and snow run off. Still can't ski at my normal early season lake due to too much driftwood from the flooding Big Wood River, and too much silt and sand in the water to want to run all that through the boat. But, got invited to MGM Lake in Bellevue, so hoping it works out for tomorrow. Put the old bindings on, and set everything to stock as well as I could. Never really set up a ski before. My last ski, the Nomad, I just ran the fin at whatever the prior owner had set. Never even occurred to me to mess with it. Pretty excited to get this thing wet! http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w92/sunvalleylaw/BoatBoating/55811CF7-A455-41DF-9C4D-B7676553153A_zpskgxpvvjc.jpg~original
Baller sunvalleylaw Posted May 28, 2017 Author Baller Posted May 28, 2017 Well, that was fine! Ski worked well and seemed to be set up fine. The driver and squatter said that Ski looked to be in the water appropriately and working well. All I know is that it felt awesome! Even for a first run of the year. And, it was really fun to ski at the site after knowing about it for all these years but never having Skied there. Pretty amazing place! And I was impressed with the Mastercraft ProStar. I felt very fortunate to get the invite.
Baller Cent Posted May 29, 2017 Baller Posted May 29, 2017 Enjoy yourself. The ski I am sure will work.
