All three of mine survived them. Daughter had a red Barbie jeep like that when she was small and a 97 red wrangler when she turned 16, but she had been driving my trail jeeps since she was about 8.

Easy to drive, full frame, insurance is cheap, easy to fix, the 4cyl + stick is slow and the back seat is very small. And my son would ask all his female friends with they wanted to go ride around topless with him.

@camjam you can wake up the 4cyl for about $200, amazing what a bored out TB, spacer and bigger injectors do for those things. I had a 94 with the 2.5 and a custom AW4 auto and 35's and my daughters was a 2.5 with a stock 3 speed auto and 31's.
