Baller Luzz Posted September 27, 2017 Baller Share Posted September 27, 2017 I know this is not about water skiing, but I hope Ballers will take a minute to read and consider this. As you all know, Maria destroyed Porto Rico. We are talking about months before electricity, running water, communication services, etc. will be restored. Chaos is spreading quickly as supplies run out, hospitals can't run as they should, and people don't get to hear from and about their loved ones. As an example, a colleague here at FSU was not able to know about the faith of family and friends for 3 long days. Luckily for her, they were spared and fine. However, things are getting bad. I would strongly encourage you to consider helping out the best you can. You can find a list of sources here. Also, check if there are efforts in your local community to collect the necessary needs. For all of you in Central, South, and East Florida, there are a lot of initiatives collecting essential needs to be shipped and aired ASAP. However, I know of similar efforts all along the East Coast. A list of essential items that people in PR need: Water Battery Lanterns Manual can openers First Aid kits Batteries (Especially D) Flashlights Matches Duct tape Battery operated radios Insect repellent Soap and hygiene products Cell phone portable chargers Non-perishable food Baby formula Adult and Children clothes Diapers Finally, I would encourage you to donate to the fund established by the First Lady of Porto Rico. I have checked with my colleague and it's legit. Thank you for considering this Ballers. Luzz @Horton, I understand it is not about water skiing. Baller Luzz Posted September 28, 2017 Author Baller Share Posted September 28, 2017 @skiinxs thanks for sharing. A lot of efforts are arising around the country to airdrop the necessary items. See this as an example, but I know there are others. Use Google/FB and see how your community is helping out.
