Baller jercrane Posted June 5, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 5, 2018 Anyone know if this combo is going to work? I would like to slap a Radar Vector Boa on the front and a Radar Vector Boa HRT on the rear of Connelly Carbon V. Before I drop a bunch of cash on this setup can anyone tell if the hole patterns are going to play nice together? I called 3 shops and no one seems to know exactly. They all said "I think so". Anyone?
Baller Wayne Posted June 5, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 5, 2018 Best route is to get the Radar bindings that have the removable aluminum base plate and use a Sequence Plate. I have used my Radar bindings on every brand ski except for a Goode with the Sequence Plate.
Baller jercrane Posted June 5, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted June 5, 2018 The Boa version of the Vector only comes in the Feather Frame sadly https://www.radarskis.com/product/2018-vector-boa-ltd/
Baller Wayne Posted June 5, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 5, 2018 Shoot, I didn’t realize the Boa Vectors only came in the feather frame. Looks like you may have to make a trip to a shop or if one of the 3 shops you called wasn’t Performance Ski and Surf I would try asking them. If anyone could tell over the phone it would be them. Baller DavidN Posted June 5, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 5, 2018 Yeah stupid stupid feather frames. Front bot will fit, rear won’t. I wish Radar would offer all their boots with aluminum plate. @brooks ;) Talked to Bill @ Performance the other day because I wanted to upgrade my old worn out HRT with a boa one. Big nope - only available in f...n feather frame with the unique radar bolt pattern. What a disappointment.
Baller jercrane Posted June 5, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted June 5, 2018 Ok yeah so then tell me this. How much stiffer/performant is the Boa version over the regular Vector? I mean I could go with a Boa up front and the aluminum plate regular HRT in the rear but then the colors won't match! :p That boa version was going to go so nicely with my Carbon V. So maybe I just settle for the regaular Vector? Any real difference other than the Boa?
pregom
Other than the BOA mechanism, I don’t think so. Before you give up on the feather frame BOA HRT, see if you can measure the exact distance of the inserts on your Carbon V and post them here. Someone with that HRT could check if the holes line up. Maybe you could possibly drill an extra hole, if necessary?
Baller vtmecheng Posted June 5, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 5, 2018 I thought the feather frame would work on the front of most other ski company's offerings but not the rear. If that's true then you could at least get the boa on the front binding.
Baller jercrane Posted June 5, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted June 5, 2018 @vtmecheng yeah Radar rep said it would def for front but not rear. Which brings me to my vanity comment above. :)
