Baller bananaron Posted July 4, 2018 Baller Posted July 4, 2018 My neighbor was driving her prostar 197 about 30mph and heard a loud noise and the engine quit. She was able to get the boat home to the lift and upon checking one of the blades on the prop was gone.Local marine tech got blade off and found that it had been worked on previously.A new prop was installed and now the rudder won't turn very far to the right and it appears to be out of proper alignment.Could the blade impacted the rudder and caused an issue with the steering. It does not appear to have any marks on the rudder.Any ideas would be helpful........thanks
Baller BraceMaker Posted July 4, 2018 Baller Posted July 4, 2018 More likely a prop and rudder impact.on the same object. Rudder needs to be pulled from. Housing and inspected.
Baller oldjeep Posted July 4, 2018 Baller Posted July 4, 2018 Check for sheared key on rudder arm. Arm should be 90 degrees to rudder.
