@lpskier the issue was that he stated on his application that it was for water ski events - technically business. A business visa is more money and takes longer. Once government types got involved..... He is super bummed but it was fine having him here for a few days.

@Horton If I was one of the best skiers in the world and I couldn't go to Australia to compete in the Moomba then I also would have seen hanging out with a short guy that runs a cool website as a close second.

I once made the mistake going into Canada to fly an Airshow and marked the custom form Business, since I was sponsored by Bud Light. What a friggen mistake that was. I was pulled from line in arrival and spent hours in an office explaining why I was there. Felt like a criminal. Learned quickly, ALWAYS mark Tourism !!!

I don’t get it. Freddie’s been to Australia a bunch of times before, did he forget what to write on the visa application this time? Do all the other pro skiers state ‘tourism’?

Shouldn’t the international federation have all this worked out for them. If you people really want a “Olympic” sport (won’t happen ever sorry) you never hear of olympians having this issue.
