I have been in New Mexico for 4 years, moved here for a job and actually really enjoy Albuquerque. I grew up waterskiing on a private lake in Kentucky (Kentucky Lake Ski Nuts). I went to school at ULM and skied there, moved to FL then NM. I own a Mastercraft Prostar but not many opportunities to ski. Anyone out there from NM know anything about building lakes here or if it is even possible with the environment and water regulations? I would like to look into it, but wanted to see if anyone out here had ideas!

I used to live down the road in El Paso. Water could certainly be an issue. There is a race track down there that had an infield lake, some friends used to ski there. Definitely tight, but possible. There are a bunch of pecan orchards in SW New Mexico, they seem to have limitless water. I always thought building a lake in the middle of an orchard would be amazing. I've skied on Elephant Butte - about 2hrs south of ABQ. Best of luck!!!

@waterskier44 I could be mistaken but I think Nick Parsons knows somebody that has a semi-private course hidden somewhere in New Mexico. You might track down Nick and ask him.

If any if you guys can help @waterskier44 that would be great. This is a former National level, 3 event skier, not a Wally, so you'd be dealing with a serious skier.
