sandlakeskier
Hey Ballers, what are some events that you guys would like to see dealerships do that can get more people away from just tubing or cruising or that havent even had much exposure to boats at all that would bring interest to not just skiing but any watersport such as wakeboarding or surfing even? Just any events that would get more people out on the water and enjoying it. Any suggestions would be a huge help
Baller BraceMaker Posted June 8, 2020 Baller Share Posted June 8, 2020 I'd like to see clear course permit laws. Some states have no rules. I cannot use mine in our state. WTF. I wish USA waterski could intervene and all permits would be obtained through them not the state.
Baller Wayne Posted June 8, 2020 Baller Share Posted June 8, 2020 One of the dealers local to me did “Wednesdays on the water”. Essential they had a few boats in the water Wednesday after work and invited anyone who wanted to come for some water time. Typically they did surfing since they could get more people out and instruction was easy due to the proximity of the surfer to the boat. If there was a lighter crowd they might change it up to skiing or wakeboarding. The biggest challenge was getting the word out to the “new crowd”. I really liked what @MISkier brought to the forum a few weeks ago with a beginners only slalom event too.
Shakeski
Use to be a part of a thing called wakeboard wednesday's - it was amazing! Two top of the line waterski boats, demo gear, at a bar with sand volleyball and restaurant - for $10 you would get a set with coaching and gear to use/demo. Dealer had it set up with a waiver form and it got a lot of people introduced to the sport - also sold a fair amount of boats and A LOT of gear!
