Baller ski39 Posted June 12, 2020 Baller Share Posted June 12, 2020 Hi there, does anyone know what size the ballast bag is that goes in the forward bilge/ storage area. The one that is recommended in the iwsf rules for trick ballast for the Prostar. Cheers.
Gold Member wski1831 Posted June 12, 2020 Gold Member Share Posted June 12, 2020 Glad u brought this up. I have a 17 prostar. There is a specific mastercraft kit that has sacks in the rear lockers and under the bilge area u talked about Usa waterski does not allow anything except that complete brand name system. I have never actually seen one at any tournaments. The only one I’ve heard of was given to a promo person for either nationals or regionals. A single sack of a specified gallonage would be a simple solution.
Baller skimtb Posted June 12, 2020 Baller Share Posted June 12, 2020 The rear lockers? I can’t imagine there is enough volume there to make it worth it. Aren’t they like two milk jugs each? The center floor thing under center observer seat makes some sense, there is a bit of space in there.
Gold Member wski1831 Posted June 12, 2020 Gold Member Share Posted June 12, 2020 @skimtb thats what I thought too. It would make a lot of sense to just put a sack in the center floor. It is funny though in a nautique you can have any setting you want with the hydro gate and up to 500 lbs in a fat sack. Why not in a mastercraft
Baller ski39 Posted June 12, 2020 Author Baller Share Posted June 12, 2020 Iwsf says you can only put 75lbs in each rear locker, not on the floor! Pretty sure Mastercraft makes the forward bag, not so sure about the rear. The rules do not specify the size/weight of the forward ballast. I'm thinking of plumbing in an automatic system. Baller_ Broussard Posted June 13, 2020 Baller_ Share Posted June 13, 2020 The "trick system" was designed for the world championships in 2015. There was a 150lb ballast bag that went under the center jump seat/walkthrough and (3) 25 lb kettle bells were placed in each rear compartment. . Baller ski39 Posted June 13, 2020 Author Baller Share Posted June 13, 2020 Thankyou, I was actually thinking it might of been bigger than that. (68kg's)
