Masterline Handle Issue

Has anyone ever had a ski handle fold during a deep water start? My Masterline radius handle bent in the middle and folded into a V shape. I had the same thing happen with a Masterline about 5 years ago.

But with a handlename like ''ironhorse''... :)

I do use Radius and alike style handle but never folded one but read some stories.I doubt the aluminum tubing was defect...

I'm 190 lbs.

@Rednucleus - the rope/handle is around 4 years old and gets used 30 - 40 times/year. It's then hung in the boat shed. Sounds like it may be more common than I had thought. When the last one did this, I thought it was just a one off defect.

Mine did exactly this first set. Straight handle bent in the middle. They replaced it.

Just stopped by my dealer who replaced the handle no charge. Still a fan of the Masterline products.

Free replacement after 4 years? Jeez Russ can't win.

Been running ML 13” bent for years. I usually just replace them every two years. Never had a problem ???

Yeah, every 2 years will be the key. Mine wasn't 4 years old as I thought. When they checked the system it was bought Christmas 2018. Apparently there were some bad handles identified a couple years back (weak aluminum) that was a one off batch. I'll be replacing the line now to keep everything current.
